Season 30 - F2 - Fun - Hockenheim 67

A warm-up fun race at the classic german F2 track Hockenheim Wink

The circuit has staged several German GPs & combines a twisting stadium section with some very long straights through the forest.
Using the period layout there are no chicanes and big opportunities for a tow.

You have free car choice and no limit shift+r

Race List =  IGOR
Server = UKGPL_8
IP Address = look at IGOR
Race date = 24-05-2016
GPL mod = 67F2
60fps patch used = 60fpsV2newmod
Track dir = hockenhm
Qualification = 20:45  UK time -> 45min
Race = race starts at ~21:30 UK time
Race length = ~45 min -> 22 laps
Damage Model = INT
Replay = you will get here

Please restrict chat to emergency messages only, including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.
Using the "no letterbox" patch makes chat messages in car obsolete, so you better uncheck it in GPL options Wink

GLA and have FUN

Grats, Bastian!  Smiley

Too many errors here and I'm sick & tired* of trying to row that Lola/BMW to a reasonable placing.

I'm sick & tired of being told that I'm sick & tired of being sick & tired.  And I'm sick & tired of it.  Wink

Grats, Bastian!  Smiley

Sorry to Clive and Jani for their suffering from my oops on lap 7  Sad. Snapped away from me (dumb to mash gas when two wheels are in dirt, even if you got away with it previous lap). Aside from that, great racing from all I encountered, fun stuff the whole way, especially last 8 laps with RooTom*, Evil, and Jani. Intense.

*oops

Mr. Chapman was a tadd annoyed that I chose Bruce's car over his for this event but it was a fun race & so it turned out to be... a fun race Wink
Managed to avoid the melee of Dean, Clive & Jani but lost touch with the pack as a result. Had some fun laps with Andreas until he dropped back but when Tommie had a spin, we had some good laps too, until he also spun & gifted me p3.

Grats all, thanks admins & Jani for the setup Smiley

Great Race and thx to all involved.
avoided all the melees with a bit of luck.
the standard setup's are very well, didn't make many changes and was competitive.

Let's have a good f2 season !

You're welcome Roo! I'm not sure if you used it untouched, I modified it slightly - set to asymmetric and lenghtened 4th and 5th gear.

For me it was the race of the year so far! 7-8 cars in 3 seconds for laps, then the rest of the race with Dean and Clive, and Tommie. It was priceless. Actually I did not really care for my finishing position Cheesy Thanks guys!

Congrats Bastian and podium!

I added a bit of rear rollbar (20 lbs), set my preferred steering ratio & went 1 click longer on the diff. Worked well Smiley

Yeah, was a Fun-race! But I had made to many funny errors.  hammer But all the fighting and slipstreaming was very good.

Gratulations for the podium!

Awesome race, great stuff all round. I was up front until about the halfway point where I overcooked it entering the Motodrom. After that both myself and my rear tires were on fire resulting in more errors and me dropping back in the field, but it did gave me a chance to race with just about everyone who was participating Grin . Tried to pass Jani on the outside entering the Motodrom on the last lap but Clive overcooked it just like I did earlier so that was that. The Motodrom is so slippery it's hard to keep it together after your tires have become hot after an off, as I found out earlier, and Clive did too in the last corner Grin .

Long live the F2's Smiley .

Yeah, :'( my "race" was ended in L2 entering the Ostkurve, avoiding a very early hard braking Tommie...

Sorry Cookie Sad . I felt like I wasn't braking that much, but at top speeds things happen quickly Sad . Maybe I was too cautious not to hit Bastian or Ronnie there.

Tommie.
