Round 2 of the Formula 2 Trophy will take place in Spain at the Circuito del Jarama in Madrid. Jarama was built in 1967 & has hosted nine Formula One Spanish Grand Prix.  It  has one proper straight and most of the course consists of tight, twisty corners so overtaking was extremely difficult.

HANDICAPPING
The tokens system remains for all drivers.
In the interest of having a competitive championship the faster drivers are requested to voluntarily select car that suits your ability, from Race 1. If you are consistently qualifying at the front of the grid,  finishing on the podium & recording fastest lap then you should be not be taking a faster car.
The championship will be reviewed after Race 3. Drivers may then be allocated to one of the following handicap groups
Group 1 BRM, Honda, or Cooper,
Group 2 as above + Brabham
Group 3 as above + Ferrari

Until the number of registered drivers exceeds grid capacity drivers may join the server as soon as it appears in IGOR.

Drivers are required to complete 50% distance to score points.

There is no Red Zone for this series, moderating will be on reported incidents only. Please remember that an additional 1 place penalty is awarded for Lap 1 incidents.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

Hope you're back soon, Rob.

Inadvertent downshift in last corner put the wall in range to remove a wheel lap 10-ish. Bah.

Yeah Sam you had that one in the bag after I spun behind you, was very surprised to suddenly see you missing a wheel coming round the bend :-O if anything I would've figured it would've been me as I was putting it all on the line in a desperate attempt to get back in touch... You were steady as a rock Sam, great fun racing you all the way! and sorry for my "ambitious" overtake, reckon'd it'd be my only shot ;-) Guess I was so desperate to try and get a gap afterwards that I made my turn-in at the 100-sign instead of the 50-sign at T-last.. lucky it didn't come off worse than it did  Roll Eyes

Sad not to see more racers on the grid, but love having Sam and Greg around for some close racing ;-)

Ps. Yes! First win in UKGPL Grin although clearly the result of some very big absentees  Roll Eyes

Everyone knows that million-to-one chances happen 9 times out of 10. Why the hell do I keep crashing then?!

Grats on a fine win, Gismo!  In the hunt all the way, well driven.

Great to see ol' bud, Jonny0, score a fine P2.  Well done, amigo.

Holy Smokes!  A fluke P3 pour moi!  I would never have predicted that result as Jarama and I just aren't a fit.  This track requires far too much of the pitch-n-catch style that is really not my cup of tea.  Thanks(?)to the misfortunes of so many others is the only reason for my totally unexpected result.  I feel for Sam in having a real shot at a splendid win just slip away from but one error.  Justice denied.

In the early laps, I had Ray nipping at my heels and then Clive in recovery from a brief off.  Swell.  Two hard chargin' tigers on my tail with miles to go before I could sleep.  It was going to be a long, hard race and thoughts of Gilles in the 1981 Spanish GP came to mind.  Could I hold out as he did?  Hardly in his league but I did luck out with both Clive and Ray having further offs to give me some breathing space and get the Cooper home without major dramas.

My luck can't hold, can it?  Riverside next...
