Championship Standings

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the Euro and American Track Packs for this series (And maybe another
non pack track occasionally)
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

Glad you can make it Matt, not least because there is a big patch due this week which will need a dedi server update. Apparently they are adding a predeterminable delay time between quali and race amongst many other things.

there is a big patch due this week
Will it include Oculus CV1 support? I got mine last week and intend to use this now going forward but RRE is the only sim I have been using without support.

Be interested to hear your impressions of the Rift - which sims are you using it with, and did you also consider the Vive? I suspect for driving sims there won't be much to choose between them, and definitely going to get one or the other soon, but still thinking about it..

I'm generally using Assetto Corsa, I do have iRacing but don't really enjoy the racing so much and I have pCars buy never really got in to it as I like my league racing and we've never run that here. I raced Sunday night using the Rift in AC and I'm pretty sure my pace was pretty much what it would have been using a conventional monitor. I chickened out of the AC F40 race MJ organised last Wednesday as it was the day the Rift arrived. But I did do a few laps with the same combo over the weekend and went a second quicker. I suspect the time gain was as much the practice before rather then the Rift but again it backs up my theory I'm as quick with it.

I also use Prepar3d (Flight Sim) and I backed a Kickstarter for something called FlyInside. At the time I had the DK2 and this only supported Oculus so it was the logical choice for me. Since the release of the Vive FlyInside has been adapted to work with it. However I was speaking to the owner of RC Simulations a month ago and he'd been able to try both. If you want room scale VR then obviously the Vive is ahead in that game just now but he reckoned for the sitting games the Rift was a smidgen better; lighter and more comfortable. There was no real difference in the visual qualities although the VIVE has a slightly larger FOV.

These things are still not perfect, I can still easily see the Screen Door Effect and text can be difficult to read, but once you're in the VR world that loses out, for me, to the total immersion you experience. Add a Leap Motion to FlyInside and I can interact with the virtual cockpit in Prepar3d and operate the switches and levers by waving my arms around in mid air. Good job no one sees me doing that Wink
