Well, a catalogue of errors from me, a few weeks practising, circulating in the high 1:17's never have any problems with the landings after the jumps etc but tonight it was like someone had given me someone else's car. sequences which I took with style and grace tonight became a lottery as to how the car would react on landing. After the 4th serious off I got stuck trying to rejoin, glanced left and saw Ziu approaching fast so hit esc and went and shouted at the cat.
Funny you said that Jeep, I also seemed to have similar trouble on the server which I didn't have in offline practice. It was particularly a problem through the final ess-bends before the pits, I could take those nearly flat out offline but when I tried online the car just flew sideways on landing, so I had to lift off over the bump going in & make sure the car was straight before getting back on the gas.
Having said that I was never comfortable on this track offline, never got below 1.19, which I did manage both in qually & the race. I guess my setup was way off. However I just drove a steady, careful race & was rewarded with 3rd place due to others misfortunes. Had 3 'moments', first when Jeep went off early on & his car came back across the track in front of me, I glanced off it but fortunately stayed on track. Then late on had to take avoiding action when Roger spun in the final esses & hit the guard rail in front of the grandstand, again luckily stayed on track. Finally on the last lap I got the esses on the back straight wrong & spun it, was far enough ahead of Clive that I held on to my position.
Congrats to Erling & Matt & all who made it to the end.
Ziu, don't take everything so seriously, I know its annoying when this sort of thing happens, but there is no need to quit because of it. I had a similar problem about 4 years ago, turned out it was my router that was the problem, kept momentarily switching off & losing my connection to the server.
Tony, Thermalito is not a bad track, does have some tight bits in which the Mustang could be a handful.
