Tony, assume the 3 Car downloads are the same as we've used in earlier Races with an additional download for extra BMW skins.

Yep, that's correct.

Practice server now running.

We expect the server to be down for essential stuff from 27th to 29th December.

Reading between the lines of this topic............ it looks like some offline practice might be prudent. The trouble is that the family always has plans to do "stuff" whenever I think I have some free time. Undecided

Maybe I can use the 2 hrs before the race starts to find a car and setup, but keep that quiet or someone around here will plan something!!!

Damn, had forgotten how much I love that Beemer !!   tt1

Tyre wear borders on ridiculous though, at least on the historics I tested with. Can't recall if they wear slower or faster than the modern options, but fear they may even be the best of the bunch..  blink

Cheers,
Erling

Just d/loaded all of the above during a break in the enforced wrapping of presents, and thought I would try things offline first to be sure I had the correct cars loaded in the right places. Might search out the server over the next few days if I can negotiate some time.  Wink

I assume that we are using the full GP circuit? as I have 3 options under Suzuka 2012.

And....another question from a GTL ignoramus.....Tony mentioned "turning the wick up" for the BMW. I guess that means increasing the rev limit in the setup, but surely that has a detrimental effect on reliability?? otherwise why give that option??

Yes full fat GP circuit please Clive. And the Beemer loves the loud switch set to 11.

Well, it was just a coincidence that the setup I used as my base happened to be with historic tyres.  I found those to be my best option for the 2015 race at Talladega.

Have done 10 laps at Suzuka with these, and 10 laps with modern Goodyears, to check laptimes & tyre wear. Laptime 1 sec. better on Goodyears, while tyre wear is almost identical - slightly worse on the fronts with Goodyear, but slightly better on the rears.  Haven't tried the modern Dunlops yet.

Haven't tried the other cars yet either, and can't recall if they have multiple tyre options too.

Cheers,
Erling

I'm getting about the same laptimes with the Goodyears & the Dunlops, haven't tried the Dunlop Historics yet.

Hopefully 3 or 4 NG guys will be joining us for this. Maybe worth bumping the thread at SJ Tony, so they don't forget.
