Grid/server capacity: 22

Practice: ~17:30 (GMT) (60 mins)
Qualifying: 18:30 (GMT) (60 mins)
Race: 19:30 (GMT) (50 laps)

Track: Suzuka GP (2012), Japan Download this

Cars allowed: BMW 2002tiiS Download this, Porsche 914-6 GTU Download this, Datsun 240ZG Download this

Additional car skins: BMW Download this

All entrants MUST download the BMW skin pack even if they are not driving the BMW. This is to avoid online loading problems.

Time of Day Setting: 17:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: 2x
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit stops: Required

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Cars at the front of the grid may have trouble seeing the start lights. Make sure you have the in-game countdown feature turned on.

Yep, but hold off on the Porsche skins. I'm about to replace that car.

IMPORTANT

Due to the Porsche 914-6 GTU I have had to further revise the fuel use/race length calculation.

This race is now back to 50 laps with normal fuel consumption. However tyre wear remains at 2x.

This means that the BMW can have the wick turned up e.g higher revs which will probably make it the fastest car of the trio. However it has, by far, the worst tyre wear of the three makes. Should make things interesting  shifty

OP revised to suit.

IMPORTANT

Over the Christmas holidays our server and this web site will be offline between 27th to 29th December for relocation and overhaul.

We are still going ahead with this event.

Before the above mentioned dates you should take a copy of the relevant points from the race announcement for your reference.

Tony when you setup the Server for free practice over Christmas period can you set it at x2 tyre wear so we can plan our Pitstop strategy for the race?  Wink That of course assumes we are still sober and after a Christmas "belly full" have arms and legs long enough to reach the controls!  oops lol

Of course Bill. But be aware of the post before yours. The server will be down over some of Christmas.

Thanks Tony, have been following situation hence my request so I can check tyres wear and if I need spit stop for fuel.  After that I can practice off line until the race.

Bill, you can edit your .plr file to emulate on-line fuel and tyre settings. Under Game Options look for

CURNT Fuel Consumption Multiplier="2"
PRACT Fuel Consumption Multiplier="2"
QUICK Fuel Consumption Multiplier="2"
FRACE Fuel Consumption Multiplier="2"
CHAMP Fuel Consumption Multiplier="2"
MULTI Fuel Consumption Multiplier="2"
RPLAY Fuel Consumption Multiplier="2"
CURNT Tire Wear Multiplier="1"
PRACT Tire Wear Multiplier="1"
QUICK Tire Wear Multiplier="1"
FRACE Tire Wear Multiplier="1"
CHAMP Tire Wear Multiplier="1"
MULTI Tire Wear Multiplier="1"
RPLAY Tire Wear Multiplier="1"

The above are from my Fifties Endurance .plr file.

Hope this helps
