Looking forward to the race, haven't had much practice yet - seems I'm over 3s off the pace  Cheesy Hopefully I'll get in for the full practice session beforehand, but have some work to do on the old Anglia, so I'll try and not be late!

I've got some practice in but am obviously missing something on the setup as I'm currently 2.5 seconds off Kai's times in the same car!  Shocked
I'll be doing some fairly extreme experimenting on the run-up to tonight in the hopes of finding my error...

Just a note to all on track limits. I'm allowing the use of the flat red outer apron as part of the track here as that's what the real series allows. But if I see guys repeatedly getting even wider than that then they face a chance of a penalty when I have watched the replay.  Smiley

Big grid, keep it clean and use caution at T1/T2 complex on lap 1 in particular  angel

All drivers on my drivers list are in the pre entry now so don't use the booking system to get in.

With luck, and a following wind, the server is available for someone to book in and claim the last available slot.

For the rest of us, roll on 7:15 and open practice.

After I rejoined the server, I couldn't match my own times anymore. Not until the start of the race, did I find out that my TC was reset to the highest setting, and I run it at 50% or lower normally.
That compromised my qually and I had to settle for 2nd.

Had a pretty good start, and saw nfsw go off and thought I would get the lead, but coming out of T2, he rejoined right infront of me and I had to slam the brakes, which let somebody behind me through.
But that person (forgot who) went of 2 corners later due to cold tyres.

I was really struggling with the cold tyres at the start, and it was so frustrating to lose 0.3 of a second on the straight. Now I remember why I normally take high power cars  Tongue.
Few laps in, I went over the curb on the inside of T1 and got a tank slapper, and for some reason, I just can't correct those in AC  Huh .

Dropped 12 seconds behind nfsw and in 4th place overal behind Maikel and Richard, but both of them gave their position back due to going wide or spinning  Tongue .

Was able to decrease the gap to 9 seconds, but it wasn't going to work.

Grats nfsw, well deserved win after so many practice laps  Cheesy

Though race. No way I could've matched Jeff and nfsw on quali so I settled for 3rd. Took it easy on the start and lost one position to Richard directly at T1.
The merc felt terrible with the cold tyres and so sluggish on the brakes, had a z4 bump me from behind becuz he probably wasn't expecting me to brake so soon  Grin

Saw Jeffrey lose it and decided to spin out for him so he could have his position back.....  angel

Creeped back to Richard and had a little tap ( damn those brakes  Cool )

He spun out few laps later and I was 3rd. End of story.

Though track though  Smiley

A hard earned 6th for me after early contact dropped me from 5th to about 10th. Takes a good 3 laps nowadays to get the tyres upto operating temps so something to be aware of for future races  Wink

Am always wary of the nimble z's and 650's in the twisties and tonight proved why! Luckily for me there were still some good straights to get the power down so was able to fight my way back to 6th. Alas I could not close the lost 9 secs to 5th especially once my tyres started to go off from lap 18.

Great fun again despite lacking the intensity of the battles I had at Nurburg in round 1, still had good scraps with Pete, Stefan, Sam and then strong multi lap chase of Lukas z4.  thumbup1

Few no-shows tonight, but still a good grid  Cool what happened to Chris, did a Goldtop and disapeared!

Congrats to nsfw on his maiden win here  I Am Not Worthy and well done to the podium finishers

After a few laps of practice last week, none of which resulted in a legal lap time, I was really not looking forward to tonight's race. A very patient Spanner gave me some setup advice on TeamSpeak that enabled me to get some valid laps in even if they were 5 secs off the pace  Embarrassed Seemed I was sitting duck out of the last corner as no one struggled to get passed me there  Embarrassed Embarrassed

Really enjoyed that race. Having got so used to driving late 60s single seaters driving these high-downforce GT3 cars is going to require some re-learning I think  Smiley.

Managed to cobble together some kind of setup but it was soon apparent I was running far more wing than anyone else. I was a sitting duck on the straights and found overtaking anyone very difficult indeed (that may have also been due to my lackluster racecraft  Grin).

A half spin early on dropped me down the order and proceeded to have an excellent battle with Bob and Steve before winding up 11th. Not sure why the chart is showing I completed 20 laps? I'm certain I did 21, although I did return to the pits just after the start-finish straight, if that had anything to do with it.

Congrats to nsfw and podium Smiley

Thanks guys, the first win for me over here feels great Wink
I drove many laps on the practise server before tonight's race as I never drove this track before. But after 15 or 20 laps the track suited me very well and I found a not so bad setup for my Nissan.
Other cars like the Mclaren or the BMW dominated sector one and three, but sector two is perfect for cars with much power.

It was the other way round for me in practise. I could't match my times until I disconected from the server and restarted the game. After that it was better but in qualifying I didn't found a clear lap. Still got the pole so it was fine Grin (surprisingly I'm always faster on the practice server when nobody is around me Shocked )
Sorry guys for my terrible start, totally unterestimated the braking point for the first corner with cold tires. Especially sorry to Jeffrey and anybody else who was blocked by me.  On the next corner a white Mclaren did the same, passed me but was too fast and drove off the road. After that it was a very clean race, Jeffrey was close behind me till he had his little accident. Driving through the traffic after half the race distance was great fun, every driver I passed during the race behaved very fair and gave me enough room to overtake. At the end I had something like a 10 seconds lead so I didn't need to take much risk and drove it home safely.
I guess it would have been a hell of a hard race if Jeffrey didn't spun out (wow only 0,001 seconds gap between our fastest laptimes  Grin ), hard to keep him behind in the twisty sections.
Nevertheless once again a very good race with all of you, can't wait for Brands Hatch next week and the first endurance round the week after Cheesy

Btw: My custom skin didn't show up for me, anybody else noticed that? Other custom skins like the Konrad Motorsport Lamborghini or Jeffrey's orange Mclaren were visible for me Huh

Bad news Sam, the pit entrance is 'before' the s/f line  Grin not quite sure how you entered the pits after the line  Undecided the race auto ends for you as you cross the line at full race distance.

Best bet is to either ask other McLaren drivers on here for their setup or grab some from race department or setup market.

I remember that I lapped for example Stephen Wenham at least two times. You returned to the pits after the leader took the chequered flag right?   (like it's done in real life as well)
But it seems like the other drivers continued until they also reached 22 laps. Now it looks like you are classified as last on the lap chart...
Maybe something to clarify for further races.
