This race will be a rolling start following a formation lap and the procedure is as follows:

*It will be the pole sitter's responsibility to complete the first lap at a pace that allows the rest of the grid to follow comfortably
*There should be no overtaking or hard accelerating/braking
*Drivers should avoid getting too far behind or too close to the driver in front
*Approximately 20 seconds before crossing the start line the pole sitter should slow down to a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*Each following driver shall close up directly behind the driver in front also maintaining a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*The pole sitter should maintain that speed until they cross the start line and then accelerate away to start the race (lap2)
*Each following driver should only accelerate when the driver directly ahead does (they do not have to wait until crossing the start line)
*No overtaking is allowed before crossing the start line at the completion of the formation lap

Practice: 20:00 BST (30 mins)
Qualifying: 20:30 (15 mins)
Race: 20:45 ~ 40 Minutes

Cars allowed: Any car from "Silhouette Series" class

Track: Brands Indy
Time of Day Setting: Afternoon
Weather: Dry

Start: Manual rolling start with formation lap
Tyre wear: x1
Fuel consumption: x1
Pit-stops: None required

Server: Simracing.org.uk
Password: see above
Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the Euro and American Track Packs for this series (And maybe another non pack track occasionally)
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

Hmm these cars arnt easy. Briefly tried it out the other night but my laguna set just had too much understeer which is worrying but aso hadnt driven the track before. Hopefully after the touring car race on thursday I've got the hang of the track a bit.

Leaderboard......

http://game.raceroom.com/leaderboard/?track=2520&car_class=class-1717&driving_model=2

I had a bit of a messy lap pushing the track limits but then couldn't improve my time with tidier laps  Undecided

Can we do formation lap a bit faster? It's really boring to drive in 1st the whole lap.

Also: any use to warm up tyres and brakes? As there's (afaik) no way to see temps...

Agreed, formation lap could be quicker. We used to aim for 100 to 120 Km/Hour which seems reasonable. Tyres and brakes warm up with use but I'm not sure if this is just time scaled or if driving hard has any effect  Undecided

Great race gents. Well done all

I had a big oversteer moment, I think I lost concentration. Which allowed Eck, to close up. Nice cars. Well done again

Good fun race for me  Grin Had some great tussles with Stephen and Oscar. Oscar dropped back? I had two slow downs for losing it in the final corner
and ploughing the field  tank but managed to catch backup. I like these cars, they are (relatively) easy to drive, or at least the French thing
I had was.

Great race.... !!!
All went well up until 25 min into the race, as i tried to close up on Martin..  I must have taken the curb too much in T2, car just spun to the right and hit the barrier. After that I pushed hard... seeing my left front go to bits and spun 5 minutes later again in the same turn....  Roll Eyes only to plough along as a passenger...  Embarrassed

As the car swerved uncontrollable back across the track, I must have hit Dieter (?)... as he was the one catching up on me...
That contact .. caused the car spin over its roof and switch my lights off  laugh
Sorry Dieter for crashing and causing mayhem ...  Hope to see you all again at Suzuka (GT2) ...  Grin

I was struggling all night  Roll Eyes  I really enjoy racing these cars although I'm a bit lost on setup which is frustrating. Looked like there were some good close battles throughout too.

Sorry Dieter for crashing and causing mayhem

No problem Oscar, and anyway I had already messed up good for myself by getting on the throttle too early lap 2 and snapping sideways..

Still a fun race, but yes these things are tricky - fun, but never far away from disaster. And if I go off I then lose more time struggling to get them pointed the right way and up to speed again.. Still good fun though..

Congrats podium.
