This race will be a rolling start following a formation lap and the procedure is as follows:

*It will be the pole sitter's responsibility to complete the first lap at a pace that allows the rest of the grid to follow comfortably
*There should be no overtaking or hard accelerating/braking
*Drivers should avoid getting too far behind or too close to the driver in front
*Approximately 20 seconds before crossing the start line the pole sitter should slow down to a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*Each following driver shall close up directly behind the driver in front also maintaining a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*The pole sitter should maintain that speed until they cross the start line and then accelerate away to start the race (lap2)
*Each following driver should only accelerate when the driver directly ahead does (they do not have to wait until crossing the start line)
*No overtaking is allowed before crossing the start line at the completion of the formation lap

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the Euro and American Track Packs for this series (And maybe another non pack track occasionally)
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

Ouch. If you do go on holiday make sure you check your tickets. I once turned up with family at Birmingham Airport at 5am on a Monday and my flight was on Wednesday  Embarrassed And that was before I went senile  Roll Eyes

Tricky track to learn, took a number of laps before the time would count.

Err.. I'm not entirely sure, did that just happen? Don't know where that pace came from. Was getting frustrated with the car setup which felt like it had no grip; I would lose the back under accel out of the tight LH, out of the first corner complex but then the fronts had no grip to counter steer so would often end up in the barrier, and that final chicane and last corner the car wouldn't turn. So decided to try a more softer setup, more conventional. I had ended up in a touring car style setup because of the incessant understeer everywhere but felt it was too stiff prevent the car to roll.

Could keep with Ant for the first 15-20mins but the tyres dropped off and couldn't keep the same pace through the faster corners and that first corner. Then I just concentrated on staying ahead of GT but was surprised at his lack of pace!

Haha, I'd only done a couple of laps to check the layout while putting the series together and but planned to do some prep before racetime which never happened  Roll Eyes Almost didn't get on the grid in time for the start as I was pre-occupied with sorting out problems on my music pc. Looked like some good fun going on up front but I was never going to be part of that last night.

On reflection, a bit of an awkward and challenging combo but looking forward to racing these around Bathurst in a couple of weeks.

Grats to Ant and Spanner and well done all  Cool

I might have been a little off... (that might be a slight understatement).

Qualified ok, then completely redid the race setup in the remaining qually time (mistake?). Not really knowing where the setup was gonna be (and, I wasn't great, before the changes), I let everyone by. If it was gonna be ok, then I'd hopefully keep up at the back. Infact, I was just annoying Larry, so I drove by just hoping not to annoy him any further. Even with others misfortunes, I wasn't even able to keep the distances in check.

So, I left in a strop... lol.
