S30 - Festival of Speed - F1 65 - Monza

Let's have some fun in the summer break!

We start with the 65's at Monza,
please make some propositions for the next weeks: easy tracks with fun cars.

Ams,Privs have free car choice and no limit shift+r
Pro, Works can use Cooper or BT7 and only have 1x s+r no s+go

Race List =  IGOR
Server = UKGPL_8
IP Address = look at IGOR
Race date = 19-07-2016
GPL mod = 65
60fps patch used = 60fpsV2newmod
Track dir = Monza
Qualification = 20:45  UK time -> 45min
Race = race starts at ~21:30 UK time
Race length = ~45 min -> 32 laps
Damage Model = INT
Replay = https://www.sendspace.com/file/xxh6wd

Please restrict chat to emergency messages only, including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.
Using the "no letterbox" patch makes chat messages in car obsolete, so you better uncheck it in GPL options Wink

GLA and have FUN

Fran...  A pretty good drive from you.  Best I've ever seen, in fact.  However...  It does little good to anyone including you to employ last-lap tactics before you even reach 1/2 distance.  You took an inside approach to the Parabolica on every lap even when it should have been abundantly clear that I was offering no challenge.

Nice recovery from your offs, Dean.

Thanks for setting this up Axel. Did you blow the engine or did I contribute to your demise, I hope not. Grats again to Bastian, Dean and Andreas. Some great close racing Bastian. I would have waited after we clashed at parabolica but confess I did not want to let Axel get too far ahead.

Thank you Doni,anyway you was able to do a good avertake on the outside of parabolica thumbup1
I have had some touch with Logan and the last was fatal for me.Sorry for the touch after the Ascari but you(Logan) have defended in the middle of the track,so right before and left after the touch was minimal but unavoidable.

Is better to say nothing,what do you mean with this? We have had a 2 different race this time.
I have blocked no one and at this point i need a judgment from the UKGPL staff about the race, because you have broken my nuts.
If to stay inside at the Parabolica is a bloking action at this point is better to leave the races.

...I have had some touch with Logan...

Can you check your GEM+ to make sure you don't have FOV set to 0? That's what it seemed like.

Check the rule pages. You are allowed to make ONE defensive move, BEFORE the braking zone. Not "he's already beside (the second time)/ahead (the first time) of me as we're entering Lesmo 1, time to make a suicidal dive to the inside where he already is, yeah, this'll work, great plan".

Seriously? I was driving straight, straight down the right hand side of the track, looking to defend the inside of Parabolica, all quite obvious, and you drove straight up my tailpipe.

Oh, thanks for waiting, too. :rolleyes:

It's like I was racing against Donald Trump.  Angry

Ok you are right in both incident i have failed the pressure on the brake and the car was gone on the right.Anyway if any error from my part is only source of controversy at this point UKGPL is not a frendly ambient.I have suffered a lot of incident from other pilots ,some reported and never judged,but to me seem to not have done a lot of controversy in the forum.
About the FOv you should  know that ,with this game, when you have a car on the flank you know nothing about the position of the other car.

I have seen one little movement to the left so i have traied the right but you have done a little movement on the right and i have decided to go on the left and at this moment there was the touch.

I want to say one thing:I have worked for GPL in many mod(with cars livery) ,starting with Gt,F2,CA71 ,CA66 and now with the 55.
GPL and mostly UKGPL are not vital for me.If my partecipation to the race is source of controversy i have no problem to leave a second time UKGPL.

Francesco,
we all appreciate very much your excellent contribution in the mod team!

But maybe it is time to rethink your race tactics...

Especially at Monza it is very contraproductive to defend every corner when a faster driver is coming from behind.
You would gain much more to let him pass easy and then follow in save distance.

I made an avoiding move at Lesmo early and fell back behind you.
The distance to the leaders grew massive when you tried everything to keep me behind Roll Eyes

Axel if the rule is to leave track to the stronger pilots we can do the qualifications and stop any race.
Also in the actual F1 when pilots like Perez or Verstappen are ahead a Mercedes don't give track easly only because the Mercedes is the strongest car(look Verstappen in Canada with Rosberg like example).
If is not possible to engage a battle could you explain me where is the fun?This was entitled race for fun but the reaction of Logan is like if i have facked his wife.Grupp ,despite not having been affected by the event,takes every opportunity to fan the flames and Doni i have not understood what he mean with the story of the inside trajectory in Parabolica.Now there is also the rule for the trajectory to choose?
After the last incident with Logan,with overturning,i have abbandoned but because with a shift-R I would have finished the race turning alone and without a battle.Not very fun,to do the same is not necessary to join UKGPL.
i hope that Logan did not think that the incident are done voluntarily.In both i have failed the pressure on the brake and lost for a moment the car.
The same was in other time and also in Parabolica but, since i was without car on the flank,no one have noticed this or something to say.
Some time seem to me that some pilots at UKGPL are perfect,they never do error and his maneuvers are always correct, if an incident happen is a racing incident.
Last thing:Since English is not my lenguage i hope to have explained my point of view without misunderstandings.

I have to say I actually agree with Fran on all of the above points and for me that last one is priceless as I have in the past made reference to this myself only to be told it is not the case when clearly some of us feel it is  Roll Eyes

As for any actual incidents in the race I have not looked at the replay so cannot comment other than to say this was billed as a summer fun race and hopefully will not result in anyone picking up any unnecessary penalty points.

As for being the victim of another drivers odd behaviour, I have an absolute gem from I think my very first race here at UKGPL involving myself and Fran as it happens, which I would be happy to share providing 1) Fran gives me permission and 2) someone explains if and how I can upload a short video clip here on the forum. Trust me it has to be seen to be believed.

Fran if you read this can you update me on the progress of the 55 mod and is Martin involved?

I was just passing in a silver Mercedes, and happened to overhear.  Roll Eyes  Ronnie and I are both old timers at Ukgpl.  Nowadays our difference is in speed, and in application of 60fps, which keeps me from racing more.

I started racing with Fran in casual online races on his Server some years ago.  Two Italians and a maddog.  Similar deal with Ronnie.  Good fun and good casual practice for serious racing later.  Fran stopped using his Server, and 5 years later, it's difficult to find casual unofficial races with 3 or 4 cars to race with.  Those who race mostly Ai, do not have to use good road sense.

I have in the past suggested Fran restart his Server, for some fun practice with guys who can bump wheels, and be helpful.  Or come to Cookie's Server before it is busy.  Perhaps time is limited.  Sad to see an enthusiast having ongoing problems.

Francesco has painted some of the 1955 Grand Prix cars, which are now coming along nicely.  I've seen most of them over the years, and have helped get them modified, from inaccurate old photo's, to perfect state-of-the-art machinery, brand new and ready to race.  Not just yet, but enough talent has been found, to bring this new Mod to the finish line.  It will be different, and it will be good.
