I have difficulty actually seeing my pit board at this track sometimes, does anyone else have that problem?

Edit: seems to be if you do a lap the board becomes visible.

The pit board location is defined in the track.ini

pit_board = -6.5 8010.0 -100.0 100.0 ; dlat of board, dlong of board, dlong LOS start, dlong LOS end (last 2 not used)

You can put it elsewhere, I was allways confused as pribluda uses this value too in the lap counter Roll Eyes

Just a terrible race for me.  Very sorry Axel for the bump at our first pit stop - I started to have trouble with the handling in different places.  Things seemed to finally settle down and I banged out some good laps, did the stop and go, then came around to do the pitstop and something really went wrong with the throttle trying to exit the pits -on and off constantly.  I thought maybe it was an engine problem, and it took me a moment to figure it out.  Greg went by as I finally found that I could press the left side of the throttle and it would work - so I did that to get to the finish.  Gutted.

Congrats Mark and Doni!

It's hard to get better luck than that. After two spins, my best hope was a solid 3rd.

I got a new slipstream free pb in qualifying. Smiley

I ran the same setup as last time except I changed 5th gear from 2.94 to 3.02. It's shame I didn't get to test it well.

I would have liked to qualify in front of Axel. That would have assured I could lead into T1 easily. Instead I just barely beat Mark to the turn and ran wide hitting the wall, not an ideal start.

Probably shouldn't have tried to get in Mark's tow when he retook the lead. I didn't realize how much that would put Axel in jeopardy.

Once we were through Mulsanne safely. I was pleased. Unfortunately I'd miss my braking point for Indianapolis. The way I needed to turn into the right hander would have caused a collision with Axel. I hit the wall too hard. I thought I could have damaged the car but I wasn't sure.

I was still in the tow but on lap 2 I wondered why Axel was pulling away from me accelerating out of Tertre Rouge. In the Amon Memorial in Mark's tow I was faster to 170mph. I just figured, it must be he was in Mark's tow.

A quick 180 at Mulsanne had me wondering again if the car was damaged. I never thought about damage again. I lost the tow from the 180. With no tow to shorten my race time, I quickly got my stop and go out of the way. The pit stop at the midpoint was trouble free too.

Later though, I thought I was driving good laps. I noticed my top speed was only 196 mph. I expected to see 199 mph at some point. I thought it was my racing gearing slowing me down. I also noticed I was consistently .8 seconds slower in S2 and .6 seconds slower in S3.

The car seemed to drive fine the entire race except for the 180 at Mulsanne. Why was I approximately 2 seconds slower for most of the race?

Greg 67GT Taber - spotters reporting:
minor problems with left front suspension.
the car has an engine problem.

lol

It's a little surprising Mark and Axel's luck was much worse than mine. Sad

Thanks guys.

Disappointed to see such a small entry for this premier event.

Grats, Greg!  Smiley  Great drive and wonderful to see the 330P4 hang tuff with those big Fords.  A treat to see.

Grats on a good P2, Mark!  In with a shot right to the end.

A good P3 for me in the Mirage.  I do like that car and with proper gearing, it, too, can hang with the Mk 4's.

Sorry to see Axel come to grief and retire.  Seems that Lady Luck has been unkind to you lately.  Sad

I pitted for fuel at the end of Lap01 as I started with enough to do the whole distance.  The stop-n-go followed next.  This all put me miles behind but the pay off would hopefully come later when my rivals needed service.  I did engage Carlos for a while before he made his stops.  That was fun.

In scoping the replay later, I noted that Greg's stop was rather faster than I would have thought for a mid-race stop.  In checking the Pit Stop Patch v1.00 as recommended by Axel, I noted that the refuel rate is standard across all mods.  I used patch v.22 which is targeted at the GT's.  From the readme for v.22...

"4.  The refueling rate is approximately 1.33 liters per second for the '67 Sports Car mod and 5.7 liters per second for the other mods."

Perhaps our future refuel races should use this for the GT's?
