Fine win, Greg!
No way could I have matched your pace! I feel lucky to have walked away with a P3 given all the dramas.
Nice job by ol' bud, Jonny, to take P2. Well done, amigo.
Some really bad luck for some of runners with retirements.
I got a good start and looked set to dive into P3 for T1 but decided to lift a bit early to avoid sliding wide and high over the crest. A good thing I did that, too, as Ray sliced down on me from the left side of the roadway like a guillotine blade! YIKES! Talk about a close shave! LOL!
I could see Greg disappearing up the road in the lead and looked to pressurize Jonny and Ray closely hoping for a gap to pass. A tiny tap from Pelle had me spin in T5B and lose touch regaining the road just in front of Dean. I promptly threw it off the road at the top of the straight. Groan... More lapses had me off in T8(again)and T3 so with not even 10 laps on the board, I was miles behind. Finally settled down and drove hard without major dramas to the finish. Only with the retirements and a few offs from others did I manage to advance to what has to be a gift P3. Lucky boy!
