Season 30 Amateurs Trophy – Round 5 – Dragon's Nest

For Round 5 we go to Dragon's Nest. It's a great track, regardless of it being a fantasy track. It was very popular at its time of release and is still popular today. Many might remember it from the last Joe Shaw Memorial Trophy edition.

It's the hometrack of Gregory Taber.

Race List = iGOR
Server = UKGPL_9
IP = see iGOR
Race date = Tuesday 06-09-16
Time = 21:00 UK time (21:00 GMT)
Track = Dragon's Nest Alternative textures are here
Race length = 32 laps (45-50 minutes)
Variant = 1965
60fps patch used   = 60fpsV2newmod
Damage Model = Int
Qualifying time = 30-45 minutes

Only ONE reset per race will be allowed followed by a compulsory Stop & Go in the pit stall area, within 2 laps. Failing to do so will lead to exclusion!

Replays Available here: here

Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page

Until the number of registered drivers exceeds grid capacity drivers may join the server as soon as it appears in IGOR. Drivers are required to complete 50% distance to score points. This Season we don't have a Red Zone. Moderating will be on reported incidents only. Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

Bit sparse tonight. On the plus side, figured out why some of the imports were a bit off.... date was wrong on the server! Corrected now and NTP sync setup so this should no longer be an issue. Blame the southerner.... Grin

Gratulation, you were too fast again. I had 2 wall touches and one spin in the race, I couldn't go faster.
I guess i was just faster on cold tires first three laps ? Its a difficult track and Consistensy was not as good.
My 1:32:57 was fastest, then two times 1:32.99. I just managed one really good lap but you performed below 1:32

Grats to all 4 Finishers.

That was a new track for me  [installed fresh for this event] & I'd forgotten about Tuesday race / was not helped by being away since end of last week, returning late Monday evening & no time to practice until the qually session.   [Although I must admit - the Tower of Terror at EuroDisney was somewhat entertaining!]

Picked 3x random setups & ended up with Mexico for the race.  With just Philippe & Bastian initially in the qually session, I was somewhat hopeful of scoring a lucky podium - if I finished Smiley    When teamie DR joined, I knew that would not be on the cards.

Missed the start as I was adding race fuel & decided to try reducing front left tyre pressure as that had been in the red.  So ended up a lap down to begin with.  But the field was well away & no chance I would see them until they roared up from behind.

In the race, I think the front-left corner of my car was barely hanging on,  but I did not want to waste the reset as the car was still rolling - particularly before 50% distance.
In the end, I didn't stop - just kept at it with the waggling wheel, although I could then barely get below 1:40.

Didn't find it particularly fun, but was a chance to get some half-decent points, so was fine.

Congrats to the podium!
Unlucky Billy with your travel woes.

Cheers,
Dave.
