Race laps set to 23. http://stracker.simracing.org.uk:50041/lapstatblinking 'eck Jeff nice time Good track this and nicely detailed by the Kunos boys. Feels like a good test track as you can feel the differences you make in the garage, whether good or bad.

Completely off topic, but when working on some Aero stuff yesterday for my S2 Transit, i took some notes on the GT3 field. Thought some would be interested to see how to fair relative to each other (obviously take with a pinch of salt, these are default setups which we all know are pretty sub-optimal). I found it interesting to see how light the Merc AMG GT3 (and Nissan) are of downforce compared to the rest, and how much the McLaren 650S has. And I know the SCG003 isn't technically a GT3 car, but you can see how efficient it is compared to the rest. Also, I noticed how reliant the 488 is on the Wing for downforce at the rear, whereas the other cars diffusers are much larger proportionally (except the Nissan).

thanks Gary, very interesting. 488GT3 is heavily aero'd but surprised at those figures, having so much on the front. Been running the wings app, interesting seeing the changes but havent found how to extract the numbers. How did you do it?

Literally just took a screenshot for each vehicle (on a completely flat track) at 100mph, then noted down the numbers from the App. The spreadsheet worked out the efficiency and total CL/CD. Its more effective and representative than checking the App in real time than actually reading the CL/CD numbers from the AOA files, since the car is always changing its AOA with speed, height changes with speed, area of each wing acts as a multiplier etc etc. And the 488 still has a pretty normal Aero balance, 47% front. Its surprising how little it relies on the floor/diffuser, meaning you its probably much less sensitive to height at the rear than most.

Amazing sheet Gary. I'm running 0-4 wing on Barcelona, and it is still a lot faster through fast corners than some cars with more wing. So your numbers confirm what the car feels like (overpowered ). Been running the wings app, interesting seeing the changes but havent found how to extract the numbers. How did you do it?
What wing app?

What wing app? Thanks yeah the 650S looks to have plenty of aero, and its very efficient too. To see the Wing App (along with some other interesting apps) is a Dev app, and must be enabled in one of the .ini files (assettocorsa.ini I think, set "devapps" to 1). Really interesting to look at and understand what the changes you make are actually doing to the car (especially height changes, as dowforce should increase the lower the car is up to a point, where it will stall and you lose all downforce, and rake). I also like running with the Suspensions App, as it shows the slip ratios, allowing me to tune the brake bias very easily.

Haha, yeah I was hoping the quick guys already knew all the setup tricks in the book. Here's me studying all this physics stuff and still lapping 5s off the pace I'm not sure if I'm really any faster than I was at the start of the season (I still cherish my pole at mugello... ), but I'm definitely better at racing more consistently (though still admittedly a lot to improve). I do think I cope better at long races now though, before the first race I'd never done any race longer than maybe 10 laps, and even then it was very rare. I remember the first one felt like a 3 hour stint to me, whereas now the 35-40 min races do definitely feel like sprints. Looking forward to the final race, hoping to grab a point or two to finish the season off. Any thoughts on starting a new series for next Wednesday? Different class? single make? I'm up for anything, I'll even lend my WIP Transit to race if you like
