Tried the track yesterday...  Shocked thats a tricky track, only had time for 5-6 laps, but even though. Will be a miracle to not qualify last! Its a mega track, but I just couldn't get any real rhythm. Expect to see me flying across the grass on regular intervals (about 2x per lap)  Grin

Also, yeah I'm fine with any skin Smiley

Go on then tell me how......

http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/virginia-international-raceway.125986/

Run through the thread, there are hints n tips on how to get bonuses (4 off, one being the tree), by completing tasks around the track (you can also get hints by trying the exe files inside the track folder). It means running off track to retrieve things (like pokemon go), I think, I've not been bored enough to try yet.

Phew, that was an adrenaline packed race.

Slight misunderstanding with the car choices at first but thnx Pete for sorting it out  Cool

Had a good quali lap with the Ferrari when I all of a sudden noticed there were 24 laps....  :'(  so much for my soft strategy. Driving 2 laps longer on wasted tyres seemed like a bad choice.
Unfortanely I had zero practise time with the mediums  Roll Eyes   so I was abit cautious the first few laps. Noticed Jeffrey had a little bump and losing abit of top speed so the gap stayed about 1,5 seconds. Decided to get to know the mediums abit first ( since this was basically or first date  Grin )

Had a stupid run off track around L8. Just took my eyes of the road for a bit on the long straight and I completely missed my braking point, gifting Jeffrey first place. With about 3 seconds down I was pushing the car to the limit ( those mediums screaming were screams of joy  Wink )
Closed in quick but side by side on the long straight I locked the brakes slightly and almost spun out. Again, pushing the car hard to get back to Jeffrey.

I finally closed in on him the second to last lap. Couldn't overtake on the long straight so decided the next lap was an all or nothing  Grin
Again going side by side on the straight, I was on the outside trying for an undercut, couldn't make it. Last corner I tried it again and we were side by side racing for the finish.
Crossed the finish line in about 2/100 of a second by Jeffrey after a cheecky tap from him  Cool

I was sweating like crazy, not a moment of rest. Really enjoyed this race.

Bad start to the night as I copied the wrong entry list to the server  Embarrassed

Had a good quali lap with the Ferrari when I all of a sudden noticed there were 24 laps
And then things got worse as I had to estimate the number of laps. I quickly looked that the thread and saw Spanner did a 1:42 so without reading on and I assumed the aliens would be 1 or 2 secs quicker, so a lap time of 1:40. Seems that was a bit off. Still it was only a lap longer .... probably Wink

That was a night to forget for me. Bit like Maikel I had only practised on softs and intended to race with them for '22' laps (my fault I thought I had put 22 laps in the race thread but was too busy today to edit it) so 24 laps screwed me on tyres and fuel.  :'(  don't know why but tonight front softs kept going red whereas last night they didn't at all  Huh So I stuck untried meds on the car that stayed cold all race and gave horrible understeer followed by oversteer  Roll Eyes
So other than the fun of first few laps in combat the rest of the race was deadly dull for me languishing down the back, especially when I went off and fell down the grass bank  Embarrassed I also had to coast the last two laps on low fuel. Think I had contact with Gary on lap1 which gave me damage so a disaster all round tonight.

Glad the front guys had fun at least.
