Phew, that was an adrenaline packed race.
Slight misunderstanding with the car choices at first but thnx Pete for sorting it out
Had a good quali lap with the Ferrari when I all of a sudden noticed there were 24 laps.... :'( so much for my soft strategy. Driving 2 laps longer on wasted tyres seemed like a bad choice.
Unfortanely I had zero practise time with the mediums
so I was abit cautious the first few laps. Noticed Jeffrey had a little bump and losing abit of top speed so the gap stayed about 1,5 seconds. Decided to get to know the mediums abit first ( since this was basically or first date
)
Had a stupid run off track around L8. Just took my eyes of the road for a bit on the long straight and I completely missed my braking point, gifting Jeffrey first place. With about 3 seconds down I was pushing the car to the limit ( those mediums screaming were screams of joy
)
Closed in quick but side by side on the long straight I locked the brakes slightly and almost spun out. Again, pushing the car hard to get back to Jeffrey.
I finally closed in on him the second to last lap. Couldn't overtake on the long straight so decided the next lap was an all or nothing
Again going side by side on the straight, I was on the outside trying for an undercut, couldn't make it. Last corner I tried it again and we were side by side racing for the finish.
Crossed the finish line in about 2/100 of a second by Jeffrey after a cheecky tap from him
I was sweating like crazy, not a moment of rest. Really enjoyed this race.
