S30 Specials Series Trophy - Sport Cars - Brno65

This is a fun series where we do the big events, so let's go on with a big motorsport event  Wink

We visit the Czech Republic. The Masaryk circuit at Brno was originally founded as a race circuit in 1930, the original course running counter-clockwise for some 29.1Km (18 miles) through 9 towns/villages. The layout changed direction & was progressively shortened over the years. The ’65 version still has 50 turns & will be something of a handful in the 1967 GT cars. Good luck.

Please check the Season 30 details regarding rules and the Specials Series Trophy pages in particular.

Handicaps:
Heavies/Priv/Amateurs have a free car choice and unlimited shift+r.

Lights/Pro/Works have to use a Ford engine (1 x shift+r with s+g is allowed)

Hola everyone¡

1st apologize to Axel, this is the 2nd race i touch him at T1 making him lose a lot of time and that dose not make me feel to good.   Embarrassed

Axel, i ll be more careful for coming events, but i asure you a 90% that it won't happen again. I have to save the other 10% because you know how GPL works.... Roll Eyes

Grats to Mark and Greg!

i had a nice time racing against Greg or should i say holding him up until i couldn't get the car to stop before the eses. And then with Doni who had a couple of mistakes and could catch him with 2 laps to go.

I think i should not used the Ferrari? Now i understand the comment at the GPL chat about Doni wishing to use the Ferrari. I read after about  "Pro/Works must use Ford engine" at weekly... Sorry if i did something wrong... Sad

Cheers everyone!!!!!

Congrats Mark! You should thank Carlos and that crappy flagman at the start.

I'm not happy at all with this one.

Blocked at Veselka while moving to the right.

Blocked again at the start-finish line to begin lap 2.

I'm beginning to wonder why I try so hard to avoid hitting other drivers.

I've been thinking for weeks now, I should start making AI files again.

Sad I think i should apologize to Greg too.

Sorry Greg, at this point i didn't knew where you were. i was more concern about having hit Axel out.

My intention was to take the line again for next turn, not to block you. Maybe in replay looks like that, but i asure you it wasn't my intention at all.  Embarrassed
And at the end of lap one its the same, not blocking you. I just wasn't as fast as you on that turn or any turn.
Not my intention to make anyone angry, i hope you and Axel accept my apologies.
It won't happen again Greg... also a 90% sure.  Embarrassed

Cheers!

Wow, great result for me.  The race rules caught me out as well, I figured we'd all be in Ferrari's so I had to quickly figure out which Ford car would be better.  Spent ages with the Mk4 but I couldn't get it to stop.  The Mk2 was much more drivable.  It ended up understeering a little bit though, and I was quite concerned when I saw Greg's qualifying time.  However I got a good start and managed to get past Axel at the end of the straight.  I had a small silly spin on lap 3 but considering everyone else's woes it wasn't a problem, so I just had to nurse it home.  Great track!!

Guess we made that one pretty easy for you, eh, Mark?  LOL!  Grats on a(mostly)solid drive.

Super recovery to place P2, Greg.  Didn't think I would hold you off for long.

Grats on P3, Carlos.  Again, seems that we two get tied together at some point in any given UK race, no?  And always good fun.  Smiley

Sorry to lose Axel late in the going.

I had a reasonable drive going til fumbling the final corner leading onto the pit straight which allowed Greg to pass with no difficulty on Lap06.  I'd lost sight of my typical braking marker and went in a tad too hot.  I've since taken out my Turin55 chainsaw and 'reworked' some of the flora to better see my marker in future.  Feeling fairly secure in P3, I had a bad lapse on Lap08 by touching the verge on the right exiting the last village and rocketed off the road a ton as the Mirage looped to the left.  I've known of this danger for many a year having sampled it frequently in the past so there's no excuse for mucking it up this or any other time.  Luckily, I didn't hit anything hard and regained the track just in front of Carlos.  CC slipstreamed by to take the position and try as I might, I couldn't get it back.  I slight collision late in the last lap had me spin away my chances and P4 it was.  Sigh...  Could have and should have done better!
