Moderator's Report

Would have been the last race of the season, apart from the re-runs. Sam started on pole with the Eagle, took fastest lap but finished behind Tommie & Dean. A very rewarding return to UKGPL racing by Tommie.
No reported incidents for this race.

  I like Works only tokens.

  Here is the UKGPL F1!

  Congrats podium !!!

I see a small error in the system, you can run all champ using Brabham ..... it should cost at least 11 tokens

Tommie...  I don't begrudge your victory.  It was earned.  I'm not complaining about car selections by some.  Merely making an observation.

I know, I feel you. UKGPL moderators have created a lot of really nice rules, but this isn't one of them Smiley .

Anyway, I was very rusty as I hadn't driven the 67's in a couple of months, but figured I could give it a go, the event being on a familiar track and all. Took a Greger Huttu setup and started slowly, getting a feel for the car, before gently pushing the car to it's limit. The result was P3 in quali so not bad Smiley .

My start was good, but I decided not to force the issue on cold tires and stayed where I was. Then at T1 Jethro slightly outbrakes himself, and him and Sam go wide. I was so preoccupied looking at them I nearly went off myself! This allowed Ricardo to take the lead. Jonny was looking for a gap as well, but I closed the door and slotted in behind Ricardo.

I was able to follow Ricardo for a while, but tried not to get carried away. I managed to drive within myself as the feeling for the car came back. Meanwhile Jonny was also pushing from behind so there was no room for error! After a couple of laps I was starting to feel more comfortable and I had just started an attempt to nibble back some of Ricardo's lead, when he suddenly spun. I managed to avoid him and took the lead. I could open up a little gap to Jonny, until he dropped back. With a healthy lead, I was able to get my nerves under control a little bit better to focus more on understanding the car. I took it easy the last couple of laps, the last thing I wanted was throwing the win away with an unnecessary spin in the last couple of laps. I was able to take the chequered flag in first position, and with Dean coming second in the other Ferrari Enzo showed his superiority once again over the garagisti :p .

Grats to Dean and Sam for a great recovery drive, grats to all finishers, and commiserations to all failing to see the finish. Better luck next time!

Tommie.

Not sure that I understand the comments about handicapping.

The tokens system applies, but there has been an option to introduce a further handicap in the event that faster drivers were running away with the series. This has not happened so no additional handicap has been applied at any stage of the season.
