Should be home in time for this one Smiley . Good opportunity To try my new Lola T222 update online Smiley ( http://www.grandprixlegends.co.nf/tvo/ca71/lolat222/lolat222.html ).

I was having frame rate problems with this track, so made a new 3do with lower drawing distances. As always this results in some pop-ups, but at least the frame rate is solid and I can drive the track.

Drop in your watgCA71 track folder.

Will be interesting with the pit stop Smiley . See you tonight.

Hey Guys,

We had a power cut last night that was going to last through the whole day, so this morning I decided to pack up the computer and move it all to a friends house.  But on plugging it in there's some kind of problem with the power unit and it won't run.  So that's that, for the foreseeable future.  Good luck to everyone else.

Not sure about the setup, especially the rear wing.

I'm not driving much CanAm 71, so I was 3 seconds off the pace with on an easy track

Grats to Carlos on a fine win!  My arch-rival over so many UKGPL races this S30 season gets the top step on the podium and first dibs on the race queen!  Smiley

I thought for sure that this would be a victory for Greg but not so.  Still not sure why.  The req'd pitstop must have figured in, surely.

Tommie a great P3 in his revamped Lola T222!  She looked so swell.  Smiley

A lucky P4 for me, frankly, as after some considerable pre-race practice and a new Shadow PB in qualifying, my vision shot me down soundly.  I got early indications that things were going bad so ducked into the pits on Lap03 with Tommie right on my tail.  If the eyeballs were going to mess up, close racing with anyone was the last thing I wanted to do.  As the race progressed, it got to the point where I could have sworn that driving in a monsoon could hardly be worse.  Tears running down my cheeks.  My Gunnar's glasses were of little help and I took them off at one point to wipe my eyes.  A great illustration of the affect of poor vision is my Lap22.  Load that up for a look and see what happens when you lose sight of the curb up in the esses.  It was quite the ride but I didn't hit anything!  Smiley

Sorry to see both Axel and Bastian fall by the wayside.

Congrats Carlos and Tom! That was a good drive by Carlos. Tom kept pressure on him for several laps to start. I put some pressure on him at least twice. It was good to see Tom on the track again.

That's a shame Mark. I missed you. I was worried my screw up in the last SS race had driven you away.

I tested the the M8B a little bit. I knew it would be an big task to keep up with Mark in a M8F and it would be impossible to challenge for pole and fast lap. I took the T260 knowing it was likely the least I needed to challenge Mark.

I was getting away from Carlos and Tom early in the race until I got sideways exiting the turn before the pit entrance. I was hoping to build a large enough lead to stop and go without losing the lead. When the car decided it wanted to go towards pit lane, I went ahead and stopped early. I shouldn't have done that. Smiley I had a lot of problems with my tires in Tom's slipstream. At one point, I was trying as hard as I could but I was still losing a little bit of time to the leaders.

Tom spun a little later in the same place I got sideways before my stop and go. It was a shame he lost Carlos's tow. That put me behind Carlos. I had learned to manage my tire temperatures by that time. Unfortunately I missed my braking point for the 90. Luckily I knew I needed to be careful not to get stuck in the fence. I reeled Carlos in after a while. I overheated my tires again. I cooled them again but it was too late by then. I was out of time. Carlos made one slight mistake near the end. He ran a little wide in the 90 on the last lap. I tried to get inside. I managed that but I put the throttle down a little too soon and spun. I thought I was going to cross the finish line backwards but the car stopped short of the line. It was almost a drag race to the finish line.

That was a lot of fun. Carlos drove so well I couldn't afford that early and somewhat minor mistake. The mistake at the 90 kept me from pressuring Carlos for several laps.

Thanks guys.

Grats to Carlos, Greg and all finishers! This is a pretty tough track so congrats!

Quite an eventful race. Pretty much everyone bogged down at the start so I had to hold back not to hit Carlos' McLaren and slotted in behind Doni's Shadow. I was happy to see I could keep up with Doni and could actually pull away from Axel and Bastians Lola's. After Doni pitted for the mandatory pit stop early on in the race, I had my sights set on Carlos' McLaren again for P2. I was happy to see I could close the gap and stay with him in the draft. Meanwhile Greg had taken his mandatory pit stop as well, and was right on my tail. It was tough to stay close tough as the draft from Carlos' McLaren took quite a lot of downforce and grip away from my own car. After I finally pushed too hard and spun, I took my pit stop right after, as I had to come in for fuel soon anyway. After that I was about 6 seconds way from Greg for a little while. My times were actually better in clean air than they were behind Carlos in the draft. Perhaps I was running a little bit too little wing, thought I had to compensate for the somewhat smaller engine in my Lola T222, so set it to 9, but was struggling a bit in the corners.

Anyway, finally I spun again and ended up almost half a minute behind the leaders, but still in front of Doni to take the last step on the podium. At least I gave them a run for their money!

I'm glad you like the new Lola T222 Doni!

Gracias everyone!  Smiley

Honestly i did not think i could hold on to 1st with still 30 laps to go.

Just about lap 10th i looked the pribluda and realised i was 1st, but with Greg not far from Tom and me. I had pressure from Tom first for more than 10 laps and then from Greg for the rest of the race till last turn.

I had a great time!!! Cheers to all!!!

Grats to Greg and Tom!!!!

Some mods and tracks like me better than others and Nurburgring and GTs dose not like me very much....  Undecided so, dont worrie Doni.  Grin
