I try to be, though it feels more like I fail everytime and end up doing the "trail and error" method  Grin

http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/how-to-adjust-setups-for-gt3s-in-v1-9.38177/page-5
This thread over at the AC forums had a lot of good setup explanations made by our old pal Georg. Especially the video he posted is really helpfull. ( had a few good driving tips aswell )
Shame he's not racing here anymore.

Yeah I'm using the setup market one too, has nice turn in and balance. I just need more laps to get used to using the power to squirt the car through the turns faster or late rear brake bias to rotate the car at the apex, both trickier alien skills  Wink

I wanted to watch some of ChrisR's laps online last night but I was locked out of watching on boards of other drivers. Any idea why?

I should be on about 7:30 ish so if you wanna try again..

There is nothing hard about this car, you just need patience! And.. Make sure you are running 100% boost. Turn into the corners and just let it roll round then floor it.

Should have followed Spanner's lead, over 10 sec a lap off the pace and in danger of getting lapped after 4 laps (without 1 spin as well). I quit before I became a hazard to those who aren't completely useless like me.

Pretty fun race. I tried to keep up with Jeffrey and Chris for a few laps but they kept to their part of the horizon. Then around halfway it was time for my brilliant strategy....a pitstop.
Of course, my pitcrew being as terrible as they are, they forgot to bring along any fuel. So they then had to run to the parking lot and syphon gallons of fuel from all those parked cars ( if you ran out on the way home Jeff....it wasn't me  Cool )

Seriously though, took 3 times as long as switching the tyres.....

And then on lap 12 I blew up my gearbox.... Definitely think I need to tweak the clutch pedal abit somewhere somehow. Second time I blew it up in the last few laps. I seem to be missing the gears half the time.

Now I'm actually looking forward to those other old race cars... and the 919's  Grin

Didn`t miss the gear, just gave up as I didn`t want to risk a crash in last lap after few months not racing.

I love the car and track combo but was way off the front 3's pace. I hung onto Bob for the early laps but he gradually pulled away and then I had a spin at the end of kemmel as Ed caught up ( I seem to always fall off the track when he catches me  Embarrassed )
That left me 10 secs behind so I had a lonely last half of race thanks to the crappy low turnout  Sad
Then on the last lap I saw bob parked up at the chicane and I bagged a surprising 4th  Shocked

Had hoped for more racers tonight than 8. This race was advertised on 3 websites and proved very popular throughout the week but just seems nobody wants to bother on race night.  Sad Now I'll have to muster some enthusiasm to set up something for next week.

How does Cobras at the old Silverstone circuit sound?

I don't envy your job MJ. Sadly I think the huge difference in lap times proves, contrary to what many said in the thread, that these are not easy to drive. I don't think I've ever done a race where I am over 10 secs off the pace in qualifying and 4 or 5 slower than the 2nd slowest in the race. Practice told me not to turn up. I had no one to race, cos no one else so slow was going to turn out, and I didn't enjoy been humiliated by been so slow. More fool me.

Sadly there are quite a few of these unique race cars that just don't work for a mixed level of skills. I'm sure Jeff and Chris had a great race on equal terms but the rest of us were spread out. Unlike previous sims though, I still find these very driveable and none of the old wrestling to keep it on track or weird snap oversteer traits, it's just pure pace that a few of us are lacking and not the spare time to put the dedicated practise in.

Lesson learned really as no point 10 of us trundling around on our own. I'll try and keep the car choices that we can keep reasonably closed up. Though I will be gagging to give that 962 a run out  Wink maybe a xmas Le Mans dual class race or such like  Undecided

Next weeks options are:-

Carrera S at Brands hatch GP

Cobras at old Silverstone

Escorts at Donington national

Please vote in the poll I set up in another thread  Smiley
