Based on the fact I seem to be fighting a losing battle to please more than any 10 random drivers each week I thought I'd shake it up and let the majority choice decide the event as I am happy to race any of them  Smiley

I voted Carrera S, but I think Cobra's are fine as well. Haven't driven any of them, but don't like the Escort and AC Zandvoort isn't good.

Same as Jeff, those 2 are fine by me. Didn't like the escorts series over at Core aswell, except at Bridgehampton. The only track I really enjoyed the car with. I think that track deserves some more oldtimer love  Grin

You haven't realised yet that there will be no consensus!

Carrerra at Brands is my first vote but my second would be RSR at Zandvoort.

But it will ultimately come down to my ability to drive the car when I practise!

I also edited the thread to allow you two votes but can stick to your one preferred choice. Can always race 2nd popular the week after though Porsche dlc2 may be out by then  Wink

I would say Carrera S at Brands but can't we throw some Lotus cars into the mix or other cars that can compete as well??

Nice idea but without extensive testing I wouldn't know what cars were a match in handling and performance and sure as eggs are eggs, if one car has an advantage most will drive that. Would like to do some 'trackday challenge' type races sometime though.  Smiley

Nice Chris, its that kind of benchmark testing we need for the whole set of cars.  Smiley Are those times all set at Brands GP?
How did you test the gt3 RS? we haven't got that yet have we?

There was a car list a while back https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=13319.0 but I no longer know if its still relevant since all the updates and extra new cars. We could do with updating it with these new DLC cars.

Re the Lotus cars, I don't think any of them are similar to the Carrera S enough to race with  Undecided The Evora v Cayman maybe?

I went to http://www.radiators-champ.com/RSRLiveTiming/  and compared the fastest times vs the Carrera S, which did a 1:38 at Brand GP.

Cars that around 1 second that I found were:

M4
F40 Stage 1 (weird combo Tongue)
GT40 (again, weird combo)
Lotus Evora GTE Carbon
Lotus Exige 240R Stage 3
Lotus Exige V6 CUP (faster than Porsche)
Mazda MX5 CUP is a bit over a second slower, but closer than expected, still, won't be a match, but close.
Mazda RX7 TUNED, same as the MX5, slower but fairly close.
Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.0
Porsche Panamera Turbo
RUF CTR Yellowbird (probably bit too fast on a single lap)
Shelby Cobra

These were obviously all hotlap times, so not reliable for race distance. Saw quite a lot of cars around the 1:40 range and F40, GT40 and Shelby were actually quite close, but they were proven to be quite impopular.

Carrera vs M4 looks fun I think, maybe add 1 Lotus, but not sure where they really fit in a race.

I tried a variety of sportscars on track with the Carrera S at Brands this morning. The Evora gte was same laptimes driven by AI (1:40) which was also my pb's so far with 30L fuel on. M4's were slower at 41/42 but prob quicker in fast human hands.

I also tried the Cobras at old Silverstone - stunning on my triple screens  Cool and great fun with all these driftastic turns as were the gt40's  Shocked Cool me feels a xmas multi heat special on the cards using a different car over say 3 heats of 20 mins.
