The cobras at old silverstone get my vote..

What you 'could' do to help even the field is give the top runners ballast.. Its not ideal and it does change the cars dynamics but it is a very crude way of getting the job done.

A lot of the slowness comes down to lines, i do sometimes watch the slower end of the field and the biggest issue is their track position.. Not just on here/core but everywhere.. They sit in the middle of the track and try to take the corner at race speeds, so just turn sharper and of cause your going to do one of two things, either understeer into a barrier or oversteer, ending up facing the opposite direction.. So to combat them effects the corner is just taken at a lower speed rather than using a wider line..

The second biggest issue is braking points, people just brake when they 'think' its right but very rarely study their brake points and take info away with them.. You must use objects on the track or surrounding areas to reference your brake points, if you brake at a bollard or gantry and you are well off the apex consiously make an effort to think.. 'Right, i will brake a tad bit sooner and use the cone instead' if thats too shallow use a point in between, or count from the cone 1 second then brake..

Setups do play a certain part in the cars stability and it is important to fine tune the car to how you drive but pretty much all the cars have a reasonable default setup and can be driven.. But setups only account for that last 10% of the time..

regarding the 962... It needs to br driven at lemans, for a good hour! Its a must!! Lol the 962 short tail should be a tad slower so the faster lads could use that while the others coukd opt for the longtail.

So they then had to run to the parking lot and syphon gallons of fuel from all those parked cars ( if you ran out on the way home Jeff....it wasn't me  Cool )

I can only reply now, as I just got home from the long walk...thanks Maikel Roll Eyes.

Had a difficult start of qually with some traffic, so decided to come in and have 1 last stint and made some setup tweaks. Was surprised to see me do a PB in qually.

Was even more surprised that I didn't lose places at the start. The car was slightly oversteery on warm and fresh tyres, but on cold or worn tyres it was more sideways than not  Grin. So I was really struggling first lap and had Chris hot on my tail.
Lap 2, heading for Bruxelles, I had a bad exit and went to try to defend the inside when Chris' Rift went nuts and we crashed  Tongue. Thought car was destroyed after that with orange rear damage and yellow front, but it wasn't that bad. Took a few laps to find confidence in the car again, as with the rear damage, it was even more oversteery Cheesy.

Had a nice side by side battle with Chris through Les Combes. Didn't expect these cars to be suitable going side by side, as I'm always on the brink of locking up the fronts, or the rears kicking out. Corner later he clipped the grass and I had a 7 second lead, with around 8 laps to go, so I couldn't lose more than a second per lap and with me finding what my car could do, I wasn't going to make it.

When I knew the car was still doable to a point I could do some decent laps in and keep the gap kinda the same, but near the end my right rear was red and it really became a Ken Brock car. Last lap was really tootling along as I didn't want to wobble off now.

Idea for next time, post the password in the thread itself, then everybody who visits the forum can see it without making an account. I think many just can't be bothered to make an account everywhere just for a race. As long as it's an unique password, it should be fine I think, as only people directed here via RRL, Core or AC forum will know about the thread.
And fun races will never get high attendance shamefully.

As long as next week isn't the Escorts, I'm fine with it I think. Haven't driven either of the other cars, but the Ford is  censored .

This race you needed a horse trailer as ballast for Pete to keep up  Wink Grin

Ballast works great for finetuning the last few tenths difference, but with these gaps, it would require so much, especially since this car is so powerfull, you'd need more than 100kg I think.
I think it's easier to speed up the 2nd half of the field, than to slow down the first half.

I thought of doing some sort of commentary video on a lap, telling what I do and look for on the track. Not that it's super fast lap or anything, but maybe with some hints, people can find some time.
But also wheel settings and in game FFB settings can help.

I can't help with setups, I can only tell where I get mine from, but I need to learn the dev apps with AC as setting up cars in AC is a whole lot more difficult. Confirmed by George's thread at the official forum. Can't understand half a thing they are saying, so it's a shame he isn't here anymore  Smiley.

I have been pleasing with the devs to hange the text on the setup options.. Half of the text contradicts the other half.. Lol

Luckily i already know what means what.. Wait until you get to play with the 919 and its energy recovery system and heave springs! Lol

Yeah I noticed something in the damper description or something, says something like "increase to make it more less stable"  Roll Eyes

I will skip the 919 then  Tongue. I already find the F1's too much hassle for its worth.

I'd love a set of cars we could have longer classic endurance races with, used to enjoy the special events we had with P&g cars.

What happened to Shark last night? He was on the praccy server with me night before and on similar pace to a couple of us in 2:31's and 2's.

The combo of a car I did not like at all and having man-flu was enough. The car reminded me of the Pantera from GT Legends, horrid to drive for me.

Was hoping we'd do the Porsche 917 30s next week. Not tried them, but they look different and potentially more fun than these Moby Dicks?
