Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Track: Long Beach '79 Download this

Cars allowed: Shelby Mustang Boss 302 Download this

Practice: ~19:20 BST(60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 BST (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 BST (24 laps)

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: Standing
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

What a terrible track. Should be dug up. Might suit Go Karts. Did they really drive these things around here?

Might give this one a miss.

Racing didn't start at Long Beach until 1975, a F5000 race, so these Mustangs never raced there. The TransAm series visited much later in the late 80s.

We raced it several times on GC in the muscle car series.  It's one of those tracks were you have to slow down a little to go fast and or to finish.  If you think the Boss is bad try the Charger or RR or Chevelle.

You appear to have had some previous experience with the Boss at this track Matt https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=10167#event2851

I will do my best.  Got PC problems at the moment. I did a few laps here, last week and only managed 142s in the Boss, so dont think, I will do well anymore Grin maybe I can sneak on the track in my trusty 67 Chevelle and hope no one notices lol

I have one, Tony!  Drive round very carefully in 2nd gear, giving hand signals where necessary, stopping for tea half way, hoping all the hotshots out-drive themselves and try to demolish the concrete walls, and then finish on the podium, only having completed half the total number of laps. So, not much different from my usual one then! Smiley Bound to work one day!
