Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Track: Bridgehampton Download this

Cars allowed: Can-Am car pack Download this

Drivers are reminded that they are limited to only two drives per manufacturer. Check your status HERE

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (28 laps)

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Well, I certainly don't put myself in the  alien category but for reference high 1:25's in the 350ci Lola T70.

I know it will probably be etched on my gravestone but I think we should have cuts off here, many places you can get completely lost in the undergrowth and take ages to even find the track and still get a S&G. Also the pit lane limiter doesn't seem to work here for me.  wacko

And boy is it a bumpy track.

I'm at 1:28 in the Lola 362 & 372.  Haven't tweaked the setups much yet.  Completely baffled by the exceptionally broad adjustment range on all the suspension parameters,  Trying just a fair bit of all the permutations would take weeks..  Roll Eyes

Cheers,
Erling

I have just downloaded the Can-Am Series cars. My first impression driving one was, wow, these beasts certainly grab your attention. eek

I remember seeing the Chaparral at Brands Hatch in about the mid sixties .I thought it was the open cockpit version and was the first time in the UK. I took a photo of the winged wonder in the pits but having looked for it in vain decided that it must have got lost during a chaotic house move thirty odd years ago. I lost a box contain old Motor Sport, Autosport and other motoring magazines dating from the early fifties (all in mint condition) plus about half of my photographs of motor racing.

I did find some interesting photographs of other cars though (Black and White in those days) so the search was not totally wasted.

I remember the Chaparral caused quite a stir as nothing like its technology had been seen before by most of the motor racing fraternity. I can’t remember who drove it. I’m sure the name Jim Hall cropped up in conversations but it was probably someone else driving. I don’t remember where it finished but I think it led the race at some point. I researched a bit and see the closed cockpit version was successful at Brands in 1967. So maybe my memory failed a little and this is what I witnessed. whistling

Memories from a previous life I guess but now I have chance to drive a Chaparral online. If possible I will try to make the race Monday and try to drive the Chaparral in semi auto mode.  Smiley

My memories of trips to Brands only go back to the mid eighties. Those photos sound really special - are you willing to share them with us?

Yes, I’m sure it can be done. I will have to connect up my old scanner, scan a few and upload them to a site. Then post a link. Unless there is a better way? I will do it over the next few days. Wink

Can't find the server in GTL as at 1.10pm Friday -  the usual Altbierbude ones are there, no GTL Mondays Bridgehampton. General problem, or just me?

Either it wasn't re-started after last nights RRE or it's lost it's lobby connection.

I can not fix until tonight so perhaps a server fairy can  helpsmilie

No worries Tony, just wanted to check, as I had a bit of a hiccup with GTL earlier.
