After a problem with outdated software on my scanner I think I have now fixed it and scanned half a dozen pictures taken in the mid-sixties in the pits at Brands Hatch. These cars were at the cutting edge of technology at the time. I have joined a file hosting site and uploaded them into a folder. I have provided a link. I don't know if this will work but if it does then I can add some more photographs to the folder. Please let me know if it works.Sometimes I don't know exactly what I'm doing but I usually get it to work eventually. There may be a better way of doing this. https://sabercathost.com/folder/4963/Brands_Hatch_60_s_Car_pictures

It works, but it's a bit long winded, they want you to pay money to get a faster download Consider dropbox/photobucket maybe Amazon S3 or google's cloudy thing. Microsoft and apple have similar things,.

I use Photobucket. It's fast and free (but you do get a load of adverts in your mailbox)

Is "cloudy thing" a techie term? I thought it referred to a type of Cider. I will look at another hosting site. You can see many of the same cars at Historic Motor Racing events now and can take nice colour photographs of them. I had a few photos that included the racing personalities of the sixties period. I seem to have lost most of them but found a few. One of Bruce McLaren and Tony Maggs. Another of a Coventry Climax engine and the back of Jim Clarks head. I think I had photos of John Surtees, Mike Hailwood and people like Paddy Hopkirk and the Mini Cooper Racing team and other less known drivers and cars but can’t find them now. I will scan and upload a few sometime as they show how far motor racing has come with today’s pit facilities. I still think the racing was much more exiting back then (Rose Tinted Specs optional).

I have decided to drive the Chaparral 2E 327CI for the race and use the Auto Box option to be more authentic. I am finding it very difficult with the 2 speed gearbox (much easier using the manual H change). I have spent a lot of time experimenting with different ratios. The main problem is getting it to change down before the corner and not after the accident. At last I think I have found a setup that is close although I have to be an early breaker on some corners. I wish it was a Rolling Start, I have a very high first gear. If by any chance anyone is behind me on the grid please pass. I will stay to the side but inside the track. I will very slow off the line.
I will certainly try to make this race. My goal will be just to finish. If I can that will be enough fun and exhilaration for one evening.

My best is a 1:31.7 in not the fastest car but the car I can actually complete a lap with (sometimes).

I have decided to drive the Chaparral 2E 327CI for the race and use the Auto Box option to be more authentic.
Hi Misnoimis The Chappy is a Semi Auto not full auto.. It should be driven using the gears but no clutch (Instead of a clutch there was a pedal to control the wing angle - Not Modelled). The model has been built with this in mind and the clutch slip, engagement, disengagement etc are all set up so that it should be faster to drive it that way. I've dropped the idea of using the Lola here.. It will require a bit of jiggling of my remaining rides but I'm actually finding the M1B (331) is the fastest over race distance.. It's power (Or lack of it) seems to make it a lot more stable than the others on this bumpy rollercoaster of a track and seems to give me the best possibility of survival here. A lot of the corners here can be taken a lot quicker than you think. T1-2 is still one of my favourite corners on any race track, Really satisfying when you nail it. A world of hurt if you cock it up. TTFN John. Great pictures, always glad of any more you can dig out.

Great pictures, always glad of any more you can dig out. Thanks, I knew the Clutch pedal operated the wing (Wikipedia) but thought it was an auto box. I got interested when I could not find my old photo of it (remembering what an impact it made at the time) and did a bit of research. I have included an extract from an article I have found online about Chaparral Racing Cars. I think it confuses the issue of the box a bit but I’m sure you are right. I would not have a clue myself. “For an old racer, the 2E is a cinch to operate. Shifting in old race cars often takes some skill because few of them have synchromesh gearsets and most have tricky, heavy clutches, but you just press the gas and go in the 2E. At first, the way in which the torque converter transmits power feels weird, as if the clutch were slipping. But the power delivery is incredibly smooth, and that, combined with excellent traction for a car designed in the mid-1960s, ensures that it puts down its 524 horsepower with minimal fuss. Once the tires get warm, the throttle can be floored without the car snapping sideways, even in low-speed corners. Another advantage of the torque-converter transmission is that left-foot braking is intuitive. Hall discovered the advantages in the 1960s—specifically, that a driver doesn't waste any time making shifts and can balance the car on corner entry with the brake and throttle, minimizing the effects of load transfer. Still slow but no disgrace. The trouble is I never reproduce my practice times on race day. Probably because I usually practice early in the week and don’t look at GTL again until the race most times. No excuse this time, I have practiced today. Looking forward to the race and hoping it won’t be a disaster.

Yes, I noticed that as well, I was not aware of any rolling starts in the Can Am 67 season. You learn something new every day.
