Results

Cool

Satisfactory quali and then the stereotypical race for me as usual: lousy start and a race at the back of the pack with at least a new pb.
Sorry again Tony and Roger for the heavy bump - I think it was in lap 7 or 8 when I totally missed my breaking point before turn 1.

Cu next week.
No worries Kurt, you let Rog and I pass you so no harm done. And thank you as always for the prompt results service  thumbup1

Good race for me and for the most part enjoyable.  Spent most of the race chasing misnoimis just like the old days over at GC in the muscle car league..You in the lime green AMC Jav. and myself in a Ford of some model.  Could outbrake you and hang with you in the corners but then you would get on the long straights and pull away.  I think we had  different final gears or maybe just me getting off the corners slower.  And in my mirror I had Matt on my rear bumper most of the race also.  I don't think I passed a single car at speed, just guys that had problems.
Welcome to Redvaliant, gotta ask, do you have a Valiant???  Had a good friend many years ago with a 1962 coupe and we came across a alum..block 225ci, 4 speed trans with the factory optional Hyper Pack that a guy had raced in the SCCA.  That little bomb scared many of big V8s from stop light to stop light, little six was really a screamer!!!! If I remember right it ran in the low 14's in the 1/4's on street tires.   OK  back to the present..........  See you all later with those GT40's

Yes, I remember that. I did three skins for the Javelin. It must have been over five years ago. I liked the shape of the 71 -74 models. An innovative design I thought. They were cool with a big V8 powering them I'm sure. I used to drive the lime green one. Are you sure it was you behind me and not the other way round?

A future Muscle Car Series would be good, say on modern U S tracks. I prefer to bring things up to date and call it Historic Car Racing. Going through a time warp and racing on those old tracks seems far too dangerous these days.

Hi Bob. yeah when I started racing sims online many years ago, I had a red Valiant, but not like the 60s Plymouth in my avatar. It was an Australian 1974 regal sedan with a Hemi 6 (4.2 litre) engine.
The Oz Valiants were virtually the same as their Yank brethren until about 1971 and the VH series. The Hemi six was a successor to the slant 6 225 you mention in your post. It was a different family though, it was an old Dodge truck motor that Chrysler US didn't want and Chrysler Aus eventually turned in to a fire breathing, thunder roaring 300+ HP monster for the Bathurst races in the mighty E49 R/T Charger of 1972.  Funnily enough, the rest of the world just got introduced to that car in the last Forza Horizon game on the Xbox. It is also in rfactor in the Bathurst Legends Mod and is a joy to throw around.

Thanks for the reply RV.  New car to me, looks like a modernized late 66-68 Baracuda.  Like the sorta 70's Charger grill and still kept the Baracuda fastback styling.  We here in the states  never get a look at many of the Aussie cars.  Very rare here.  Never even heard of the engine you wrote about, V8's were the choice in those years except for economy type cars.  The Hyper Pack 225ci six was developed for a SCCA class with the Valiant,  Falcon, Corvair and other 6 cyl cars that would be cheaper than the Mustangs type cars to race.  Didn't go over very good because the V8 pony cars were the "in thing".Will spend a little time on google and get some info on your cars.  Thanks I have been a car nut since the late 50's even before I was old enough to legaly drive. Thanks again
