The 1275 Mini was my only choice left and I had hoped for an easy class win as I was the only driver in class when Roger joined last during quali  Tongue Cheesy Wink

Even with a mainly suitable setup Roger was slightly faster and including two or three mistakes there was no chance for a longer and/or closer battle  Cool

Great series. Thanks Tony and all involved for all your work (btw: also thanks for all the work concerning the 2018 series  thumbup1)

Congratulations to all championship winners and podiums.

Now it's time to practice for the Xmas event - three cars on three tracks  Roll Eyes

Merry Xmas everbody  Smiley

Poor race for me, could not find a setup to make the 1300 fly, so went with just adjust fuel and tyres. Yes Clive i did chuckle when you went off twice, that first off i thought you had wrecked your car but it was not to be.

Grats to all winners and Podiums

Thanks to Tony making all these GTL series races for us all to enjoy.

Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year to all drivers and there family's.

Had some fun here   Smiley Might have been more fun but for 2 offs that meant
Tony and I lost sight of Jeep. The finish order would probably not been different
but once is a mistake, twice in the same corner is just careless  Roll Eyes

Merry Christmas all, and thanks to Tony for his sterling efforts for these many series  thumbup1

Well, that didn't feel like a win at all. Sad I'm more than happy for Geoffers to be reinstated in 1st place as I know exactly the cut warning he is referring to. It's on the exit of Druids right on the end of the rumble strips and is definitely a track error. It's that which gave me 3 consecutive warnings earlier in the season in the Escort causing me to throw a hissy fit and esc back to the garage. You do not even have to put 1 wheel off the track.

Wasn't really up for this one, I had left work early today due to a sickness bug and only got out of bed to join so was more than pleased to get 2nd on the grid.

The flag dropped and Geoffers immediately began to pull out a gap while I was not finding it so easy to gap the persistent Escorts of Matt and Tony behind. Then as Geoffers said he spun at Druids gifting me 1st place and this had the good fortune to put the 2 escorts between the two of us. It was a position I shouldn't really have relinquished but within a few laps due to Tony and Matt's coming together he was back on my tail and not prepared to sit there for long. Finally he was through only to spin at Druids again a lap or so later but like he said I returned the compliment next lap to normal business was resumed.

From then on I could only watch as he disappeared off into the distance and nothing short of divine intervention was going to give me any chance to get back on equal terms with him.

So, While I'm really chuffed to have won the final round I would be just as happy with 2nd if Tony looks at Geoffers cut warning and decides it didn't merit a S&G.

Thanks for organising this series Tony, I've had to miss a few due to work and family commitments and I did find the car choice a bit difficult to keep track of but looking forwards to the Tuners cup next season.

I had two different options for this final race, after having missed a race earlier.  Could run in either Class A or B.  Spent considerable time poring over remaining car options for everyone else, trying to guess what ppl would drive, and where the most interesting race might be.  Had a shot at 2nd in the Championship of both classes, but A looked easier than B, as I required fewer points.  In addition, I had a shot at winning the Championship, if something prevented Ziu from scoring points. A it was then!

Fully expected to play 2nd fiddle to Ziu in the race, but when I sneaked a peek at lap times in previous Brands races, my eyes widened.  My offline pb, which was quite unusually done on race fuel, was a 1:54.2.  That was 0.2 sec faster than Ziu's fastest race lap earlier, in the same Mini as he would be driving in Monday's race.  Maybe the race would be closer than anticipated ?

His qual time earlier was still a tenth better than my pb, and he shaved off a couple of tenths more in qual, and so was ahead of me.  Knew I had a shot at jumping him at the start, as my Imp would be easier to get off the line than his Mini.  So it went and I slipped in front at the start of a very intense race.  Close over the first half, but slowly worked up a gap of around 5 secs, all the while being surprised the mini wasn't faster than the Imp.  Couldn't relax though - any mistake from me, and our roles would surely be reversed.

Held to the finish line.  Grats to Ziu for winning the Class A Championship, even if he has to share it a little with me  Wink

Grats also to the podium yesterday, and all the class winners and runners up - not least Ziu who won 3 out of 4 and the overall one  clap clap clap

Thanks to Tony for the organizing and all the headaches choosing a Class and car lol.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

Thank you John. I will reinstate Geoffers to his rightful position.

Not much to report again on this race.  Finished in the same position that I qualified at so am satisfied with that.  Had a good start and passed a few early but then the Z28 tire eater slowly lost lap times.  Passed Tony and Matt a couple of times when they tangled and went off.  On my second pass of them after a lap or two I had a blackout and found myself on the desktop, they would have passed me anyway I'm sure.  3rd time in the last 6 or 7 races.  After that just cruised to the finish, with the usual jittery screen.  Going to try to solve it next season by a new load of GTL with no old downloads.  The current one is about 3 years old now and have just been adding to it every season.  Ran Sunday with the Nogrip guys at NOS for 6 laps and not a stutter or anything with another load.
Congrats to all the Champs and podium winners.  Also  grats for the rest of us, great season, had much fun!!!!  And of course big thanks to Tony for organizing the races along with John for all his work on the Can Am series.  Next season looks like a great one coming up..........Won't make the holiday specials in the Jags, as we will have family and friends passing through daily from Xmass through New years day.  Wish you all happy holidays and a healthy next year.  See you all at Aintree.

Thanks for that Tony  & John, but I wasn't too bothered about it, just enjoyed the race. It wasn't as if there was a championship at stake. Thanks anyway.
