Well I haven't tried the previous version and I get good fps all over at this one.

But track cut messages are ridiculously severe (T1 for example). Plus its an abomination of a track as far as layout is concerned when compared to earlier versions.(Stupid chicanes everywhere). I'm considering myself fortunate at the moment that I Will probably not be able to make this one due to work.

True, it feels like a heavy old beast to drive but I am enjoying trying to tame her. Corners are taken very respectfully and I wish it came with brakes. Engine health may be a problem to those who like to use the downshift to provide extra braking so watch those % numbers. I'm still learning the track (getting my excuses in early) but my best so far is a 2:33.7 with full tanks. I can only get the tyres to go green if I do doughnuts.

Love to watch and listen GT40's on real track but indeed it's highly sophisticated - and impossible for me  Tongue - to tame these beasts.
The more as I'll be away from Thursday till Sunday and I don't have time for practicing - as usual  Roll Eyes
Hoping to find a driveable online setup.

You can watch how difficult it is to master these beasts  Grin

Did the patch, and the 4 gig one.
Might have made a difference for a few fps, but the biggest difference was to install some older Nvidia drivers
I read a post where someone had downgraded their drivers for this sort of issue, and he went to v353
I did the same, and now I get 76 over the finish line instead of 46, and some higher numbers elsewhere
Driving the track is not as bad now, but it's still choppy somehow, and the driving experience is masochism.
The layout is not liked, the driving feels choppy, the cut tracks are just silly.
Not looking foward to this one at all.  thumbdown

Oh, I managed  a frustrating 2:28.6 but got angry so quit.

I'm short of time between now and race, don't know if I'll be able to find time to sort out fix. So I prefer you turn off cuts please but will go with majority and take my chances.

Then you are driving without taking the fastest lines. There is a cut on the inside of T1 which is insane
there are cuts on the outside of T1 where there is a wall in other versions. there is a cut on the inside of the
last turn, where if you turn in tight off the back straight you get a cut.
There may be others, but those are the only ones I have felt to be unreasonable.
The GT40 is clumsy in tight chicanes, and no cars seem to like the one just under the bridge
is better to go to the hairpin at the end, rather than that tight awkward one.
I promise I will stop slagging the track off, just I feel it's a missed oportunity for a good race.

I believe I have had this conversation in the past, possibly in P&G maybe here, the T1 cuts
follow the white lines that define the track, rather than the physical limits - walls fances etc
so racers will always take the best line where possible, so generates frustration
If you turn off cuts that will help, but the layout is not ideal for these clumsy cars IMHO

Thanks for the cut advice. Tonight (if I remember) I will turn cuts off.

@ Bill, you will need to add the provided patch or risk miss match messages.

@ Matt, and your suprised that I'm not taking the fast lines  Wink

Bill:
Check and see if you have another version of Sebring in your Gamedata/locations file.  If so delete them and then re-install the one we are using.  Sometimes one version of the track will interfere with another...I know not why!!!!  Hope it works for you......

Hi Joao and welcome to UKGTL. I've noticed you on our practice server, maybe we will see you in a race one day?
Cheers
Tony

Hi Tony. I'm happy to be here, great forum, with lots of great drivers.
I'm new to sim racing. Begun 4 or 5 months ago, with project cars.
Some time later found out about GT legends, and since I also like
older games, and classic cars, I decided to give it a try. It looks pretty good with some added fx,
and improved shading. I also like the feel of the game ( physics ). Even though it is
demanding, it also challenging and fun. Im using a thrustmaster ferrari wheel.
It's not very good, but I decided to buy something cheaper to begin with, to see
If I would to enjoy sim racing. Later on I'm planning on getting something better,
maybe 900º wheel, with some nice pedals and h shifter.
Looking forward for some racing online. Any registering needed to join the events?
( namely the sebring / gt 40 event ). Or is it only needed to be present at the qualifying session?

cheers

Hi Joao

You sound like you will fit in perfectly here. We have drivers of all ages and abilities and we are a friendly bunch (usualy  Wink).

No registering required, just turn up and drive clean. Reading this may be of some help for your first online race with us https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=13639.msg245804#msg245804

The shorter races are more popular so this one will be a turn off for some but your most welcome to join in.

Hope to see you soon

Tony
