At a different location now, I am installing the patches etc, I will test in a bit
It showed Bill in a 1275 Mini, probably becasue that was the last car that system saw.

Early bath again. Sorry Kurt for hit up back at start.  Embarrassed Think it bent something as car just wouldn't drive around the fast curves but ran wide into tyre walls, getting progressively worse.  Shocked

Very sorry to read that Geoffers. Doesn't sound like our usual standards? Let me watch the replay please.

Very pleased to knock 2 secs off my pb giving me a place on the second row and even more pleased with my start, passing Berger, Geoffers and Erling within the first few hundred yards.

Although not the quickest round some of the corners, I did manage to hold first place (rare for me) for a while, when I then made a couple of braking errors which dropped me down to 3rd. A shame Geoffers didn't stick with it - on my replay your car (and Bergers) are invisible so I can't work out what your reasons were, but I'm sure your pace would have got you ahead of me later in the race.

Ziu was soon filling the rear mirror and took a succession of corners far smoother than me to pass and catch the group ahead.

Well done to Berger and to Ziu for second place having started from the back.

A very enjoyable race.

..... - on my replay your car (and Bergers) are invisible so I can't work out what your reasons were, but I'm sure your pace would have got you ahead of me later in the race.

That's a well known bug Steve.  If you go straight from the race and load the replay, several cars will be invisible.  Just exit the replay and load it again; then all will show up.

Enjoyed the race.  It handles like a pig, but I still love the GT40, for the sheer challenge of driving it, and with Ducfreak's sound mod, it just sounds so deliciously raw.

When guest drivers announced their participation, I feared it would be the alien kind, like our guest drivers always seem to be. Sure enough, when I joined the server, Berger was posting frankly absurd laptimes.  Can't complain about qual - until today, my pb had been a 2:24.5, so well chuffed with getting a low 23 lap.

Completely mugged by Steve off the line, and at T1 Ziu was already through - was that part of a master plan ?    Hung on to 5th on L1, and on L2 passed Geoffers after he and Ziu touched. Right after Berger spun in front of me, so suddenly I was in 3rd, chasing Ziu.  He made it past Steve, whom I then chased.  Made it past when he lost momentum after going over the grass.

Berger soon caught and passed me.  Surprised to keep pace with him and Ziu over several laps, but apparently their dicing held Berger back.  Then on L10, I spun when entering the first part of the final hairpin. and thus lost contact with the leaders.  Desperate to get going again before Steve caught me, and just managed so.  He went off on the next lap, so the threat was reduced.

Berger had gotten away from Ziu, and I had a 5-6 secs gap to the latter.  Got a little closer towards the very end, but too little too late.  Grats to Berger & Ziu.  Commiserations to those that left, for one reason or other.

Have a peculiar problem with my replay.  In the race replay, both my own and the server replay, all cars with copper coloured wheels have black wheels (I hate black wheels!).  In the hot lap replay from the very same race however, all looks normal.  Anyone else have this ?

Cheers,
Erling

Well, with almost no practice as I wasn't expecting to make this one I had no idea what to expect. I was (am) still getting caught out at least once every 5 laps or so simply because I couldn't remember where the track went or thinking the corner I was heading into was a different one to what was actually there. Downloaded a set up off NG which after reducing the steering sensitivity went with it pretty much as it came. I hadn't even got out of the 1:29's leading up to the race so was quite chuffed to put in a 1:27 in qualy and even creep into the 1:26's in the race. Had a good dice with Bob until around lap 7-8 me following him for a few laps before managing to sneak past into the final corner, he was than large in my mirrors until I spun when I lost concentration. I then had a few horror laps with a few more spins and found myself 20s adrift and running alone. I was able to more or less match Bob's lap times and slowly increase the gap back to Tony and SpecialKS but pretty boring after the excitement of the earlier laps.

I definitely need a lot more time in these, I'm finding them a bit of a handful at the moment. Not the sweet motor I was expecting given their reputation. Still don't like this version of Sebring, it's a very "pretty" and well made rendition but not the best layout by a long way. (JMO).

Hi guys. Too bad I couldnt make it to the race. Even though I
would not be very competitive, I would have liked to race.
No worries. Will try to be at the upcoming event.
Already downloaded the track, and done a couple of practice laps.
About the frame rate issues on some tracks, even though I
have little to no issues, I used to have a few frame drops, speccially
at le mans 1977, and then I did the 4 gig patch, to allow the game
more ram usage, and also set the priority to high, in the plr file,
which makes the game run on high priority. All in all I gained about
5 fps and the frame drops went away. Maybe this will help someone.

Cheers,

jg
