(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules. (3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read Autopit="0" Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable. Special Notes: None

Tony why are you using this version and not an earlier one more appropriate to the GT40 era?

Ok, so I wasn't anticipating being around for this race, but plans have changed. So because it IS the GT40 and it IS at Silverstone I think I might risk making a complete a** of myself and give this a go!
Does anyone have a target laptime that might be sensible...by that I mean NOT alien speed and maybe somewhere around midfield?? Just to give me something to use as a benchmark?

I should be able to make this race on Monday. My Golf Club has closed half the course for summer maintenance and the competition is only over nine holes. So in theory I should be home in good time. I have downloaded the skins and looked at the track so now I just need to get in a bit of practice. I find the GT40 a tricky car to drive, a spin waiting to happen. This time I think I really will be at the tail end of things. Hope to see all Monday evening.

Put it this way Clive, if you can get near Demetrio's lap record above, you will be well ahead of me!

Hoping to make this one but not really had much time to practice.
Currently way off the pace down in the 2:33's. But at least I've now finally come to terms with where this version goes, so hopefully I'll not be a danger to anyone more than normal.

Put it this way Clive, if you can get near Demetrio's lap record above, you will be well ahead of me! hahahahahaha!! If I could get anywhere near that I would not be asking for clues from you guys!! Initial attempts were around John's times. Then I set about taming the car and the setup to suit me better and I am now nearer to Tony's effort. As has been said, this car does not appear to tolerate bad driving and will bite back at the slightest provocation, so I will have to control my urge to slide the rear about. Can I do that for 24 laps??? I doubt it...............

We raced the GT40 at NG a couple of weeks ago at Mosport 09. Cap7 has put his setup on the online setup folders for that track if anyone wants to try it. When I tried it at Mosport I was a second faster than with my own setup from our first race at Sebring.

hi toni,
i am on server and i did any laps, i see, that server is set to 24 laps, which is longer then 1st race in sebring, here i saw in standings 20laps with laptimes 2.20 around, here a lap is longer, so will this 24laps be correct for the race?
is not easy to drive this car again after many races with modern GT3 cars i did in past months, but after any laps it is good feeling again, only the brake distance is hard to learn new, so long distance this car need to brake for a corner, in my brain i have other brake points for corners.

Hi Berger, yes I think 24 laps is correct for this circuit. Should be a one hour race.
