I decided to opt for the 1275S here as I felt my times were better, relatively speaking, than my remaining Class D car, the Z28. I also hoped others would opt for their Class D's so making it possible to pick up some more useful class points.

Had a good race-long tussle with Huggy's 1275S, the other Class B on the track. Our different garage setups allowed for some good close-up racing which was only really decided in the last couple of laps.

The sound of a 302 passing is quite scary in comparison with the Mini's classic whine. As Huggy said, I hope we managed to keep clear of the faster cars. The race seemed only minutes old before Ziu was lapping us for the first time.

Out of interest, there are two errors on the stats pages. I'm shown as reaching P3 during lap 2 when I was actually last behind Huggy. Secondly, my lap 2 time is shown as 2:33 when it was actually (I timed it on the replay) 1:53!

Well done to the podium finishers. This Championship, as someone mentioned last month, will get more and more exciting as the choice of car will be almost as important as how quick you are on the track.

I like reading the race stats and really appreciate Kurt providing them. I do think there was a glitch and the stats got a bit upmixed, particularly on lap one in the Positions and Lap by Lap Graph.  Was this caused by the time cars joined the grid being recorded and the actual starting positions or something like that?  Huh

Still kicking myself about the way this one went down. Had loads of practice setting up the Capri for this track. Qualified ok with a full tank and was feeling confident that I would be competitive with the other Capri's and hoped to catch the Mustang's once there tyres went off. Kept it steady for the first couple of laps as the Capri is easier to drive once there is some colour in the tyres. Managed to pass Bob and set off after Clive who had managed to break away. As the race went on my distance from Bob increased but also the distance to Clive was growing to which wasn't in my script. Many, many laps later I caught a recovering Clive and thought that with one lap to go I could have his place. After Abbey I planned to make my move but enthusiasm outweighed talent and I began a spin which sent me of track, hitting the wall and sending me on to my roof. By the time I had recovered Clive was long gone, Bob passed me and Ziu went by to lap me, so had no chance to make amends for my accident.
Still it was good fun.
Next one is a double header at Crystal Palace where the classes are defined so we should get some good racing

A comparatively lonely race for me once we had got into it by a few laps. I had assumed most would choose the bigger class here and had hoped that there might be a few more Camaro's although I knew they were the slowest of the fast group. But there was just  Eiflblitz and myself. Had I known there would be a few more of the slower classes I would probably had opted for one of those myself.

Qualified back in 7th but got a blistering start due to the Camaro's ease off the line and actually managed to mix it for a few laps with the Capri's and I think the odd Stang but I knew once I lost the tow down Hangar Straight I was heading for a very lonely race which is how it worked out in the end. I did try to prolong my involvement and thought I saw a slim chance of a move on Tony into T1 early on but ambition far outweighed talent and although I did stuff it up the inside of his Capri my approach speed meant Tony Probably thought "WTF" followed by "Ah ok Bye"  as I sailed past onto the grass on the outside of the turn. From then on having lost the connection with the front group I slowly slipped behind a second or so each lap.

Came across Huggy and Steve having their own private battle and lapped them (Twice) shortly after the 1st pass I made a right Horlicks of one of the corners and ended up on the grass so had to do it all over again.  oops Came across Bill in the Escort with a few to go. Was disappointed Eiflblitz's race was ended so quickly. Sad Once I had lost touch with the front pack he was next behind me and I had expected us to have quite a battle. Unfortunately the end of his race signified a very lonely 15 laps or so for me also.
