Time of Day Setting: 14:00

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Hi Tony - looks great, really want to have a proper go at it!  Now, the Capri 2600 - is there a download for the base car somewhere, or is that already in GTL? I've downloaded the skin pack. I take it the Boss Mustang is the same as used in the dedicated series for that car coming up?
Cheers

The Capri is a default GTL car. The Boss Mustang is the same as used elsewhere.

IMPORTANT

Once qualification has started drivers may not leave to change class/make/car. They may leave to change skins.

Results and replay now posted.

I'll put up the final Championship results tomorrow as there maybe some errors in tonight's finishing positions. Please post if you spot an error.

I'll let Bill's points stand as they have no influence on the final champ positions.

Thanks to Tony for creating a fascinating and compelling championship, I loved the diverse grids and all the possible car/track combinations. ( I notice that we have similar multi car formats for some of next season's championships  Grin )

Grats to the podium guys in this season finale and to all those who took part.

My last in season 17 race was simply embarrassing  stupid. I  was quite prepared for my last available drive in the Escort FVA to be difficult against the faster RS1600. I even did some offline practice over the weekend to see if I could find some hidden pace. Over a 30 minute session I managed to chip about 3 secs off my initial fastest laps. I knew that the RS would be at least a second faster, so I would need to rely on being consistent if I was going to have any chance.

Well that was a joke wasn't it?Huh Roll Eyes
I actually had to check at the end of the race that I had used the correct setup!! I knew that the car was very nervous on cold tyres and it took at least 3 laps to even get them lukewarm, but when the race started I was not prepared for a car that felt like a completely different beast  Shocked Shocked
I'm sure that many of you chuckled ( or laughed out loud!!  Undecided ) and enjoyed the sight of an Escort ploughing across the grass/spinning/ slewing sideways etc. and basically struggling to complete a single lap without some drama. After collecting 2 track cut warnings in the opening laps, it was a miracle that I did not collect a SnG too!!! The handling felt so random that I could have been convinced that I had a puncture???

Apologies to Roger. I passed him a couple of times and then managed to park my car across the track in front of him on more than one occassion  Roll Eyes He must have been sick of the sight of my Escort.

Not the finale that I would have hoped for, but a it was a great series guys with some fun racing.

HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A PEACEFUL NEW YEAR GUYS

Had a choice of a 1300 Escort or a class D car left for this race, decided on the Capri as I quite like driving it.

Was a bit embarrassed when I was so much faster than everyone else in practice, but John got closer with the Mustang in qually so I felt a bit better. Got the lead at the start & opened a small gap until I spun off at Druids after 4 laps dropping me behind John & the Escorts of Tony & Matt. Just caught up to them when Tony & Matt collided & gifted me 2nd place, caught John a couple of laps later only to spin at Druids again  Roll Eyes. Didn't lose so much time this time & John was kind enough to go off on the next lap & allow me back in front.

Gradually opened up my lead over the remaining laps & looked set for the win until on the final lap exiting Druids I got a rogue 'cut track' & an instant S/G  Huh, even though I was fully on the track. Carried on to the flag unsure of how much penalty I would get, it turned out it was too big to keep the win & John took it by 20s.

Congrats to John & Tony in 3rd.  clap clap

Congrats also to all the championship podium occupiers.  clap clap clap

Finally a big thanks to Tony for organising some great events this year.  clap clap I Am Not Worthy

Happy Christmas to you all & look forward to racing you all again in 2018.  rockon

Oh, & don't forget the Christmas Special all Jaguar events next week.
