eek eek  Fastest in Jag & AC!!   I wasn't even going to try these two, as I figured the Jag to be too bonkers here, and the AC too slow..

Own times, full tank (nearly):

AH: 1:36.9
AM: 1:36.3

Cheers,

Jag is bonkers, but it's turn in and loose back end make it fast here if you can drive it
The ACE is slow, but with a suitable setup it can be pushed very hard, and is easier
to be consistent

Previous versions of Cadwell Park had some odd cuts at some turns. If you come across a cut that you think was unwarranted could you please post here, thank you.

I think I definitely have some work to do,  Sad not even decided which car to take yet.   Huh

DBR1  1:36.8
Ace     1:37.3
AH100 1:37.8
Jag      1:42.3 Although I was up 4 seconds until the Mountain and crossed it all up putting the power down too early.

1:35 is slow

By your standards maybe, but you're sort of in a class of your own...  Wink

AH100 1:37.1
ACE 1:39.16
DBR1 1:39.2

It looks like I already made my decision.

Looking forward to this one. Still love the LM55

(BTW: there is a 51-Jag C-Type by Nig available for GTL over at http://www.evolution-modding.com/. Car is not yet completely finished (NIG quitted modding) but hoping for completion and nice to drive)  Wink

Oh dear.
Just caught up with this thread, and it looks like you guys are into some serious preparation for this event.  Undecided

Seeing this has made me think that I might try and get some practice laps in before Monday.  It is a long time since I have driven Cadwell Park, and I can see that these cars might be a handful around this circuit.

It would be nice to put up a good show in memory of Laurie Clemo, who I regularly raced in GPL too, where he was the same true gentleman driver.

The track should be fun, not easy to overtake on though.

I think my controller must have caught the bug other people have mentioned. About three times now a gear has failed to engage on my G25 shifter while practising. I hope this doesn’t happen during a race. My keyboard is also playing up. If I use chat online it looks something like “ i att tanks fothe advce n howto tke cornr it seems to workkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk”. All I am saying is don’t expect a quick reply from me.

I think the DB1 is possibly the quickest for me but the 100S is a little easier to drive so I will chose it for the race. The setup is key. I am not very good at it. I have one that works well for three quarters of the lap but not the left right left right twisty bit towards the end. I think I will go for the safer option. I will drive the Healey with the two extra spotlights. Then I can imagine I am able to see better. A little concerned that it has no Roll Over Bar.

I think I am getting some quite good times on low fuel so will now have to practice on a full fuel load and see how it goes.

C U Monday I hope. Smiley

Racers, Pilotes, Pilota da Corsa.

I am starting 4 new series in Race Room, starting next week
They are all "Classic" though not as historic as what we do on here.
We could use some more people to make the races even more exiting
We have some seriously good fun with the small numbers who turn up, so a couple more would be a big plus  thumbup1 thumbup1 thumbup1

If you decide to give it a whirl, there is a small investment needed. The game is free through Steam, and comes
with some free cars, and a couple of tracks.

The first event will be with the DTM92 car pack, and Bathurst circuit.
https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=14398#event5473

You can look at the cars in a pack, or one track and just buy the one you fancy, people will be happy to advise what would work for your tastes
or you can just buy the packs, and track packs as required.

The next event after that is using the monster GTO cars (though this series includes the GTO, Gr5, and BMW Procar) at Anderstorp (need to purchase)
https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=14399#event5484

Then Touring Classics, which are very similar to the DTM92 style car at Portimao, which is a free track in the game.
https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=14403#event5485 (though the Nissan may be disallowed, as it can be too fast)

Next is the NSU TT car at Sachsenring. The NSUs are slow, but we get some fabulously close racing  Cool
