Good to see a decent grid. Had only tested the BT11 but had copied the setup to the Lotus 33.  After a mistake on Lap 1 I was looking forward to some close racing with Santa Mark and Elf Tristan with Evil Santa breathing in my neck. It was a shame a big wreck happened on Lap 2 after T1, which spread out the field. I was lucky to avoid all, checked up and chose the left side. Noticed Elf Doni was behind, must have avoided it all as well. Found out I had to save fuel midrace, lots of shortshifting, had a few spins after burning the rear tires when having pushed for fast laps. Haven't driven Lotus much in 65 mod, mostly for GPLRank, but it handles like a dream...

Looks like the Elves beat Santa! Thanks to Axel for organizing this event!  Smiley

Also this time betrayed by the throttle potentiometer .. 231 kph reached my Ferrari at the point faster the track and nothing acceleration out of corners ... Frustrating! Angry

I hope to meet you on this beautiful track.
Congratulations to Robert truly exceptional and the rest of the Podium

Ciao

Yup, that could have been a much closer competition for all, if not for the guy selling Gluwein at T1 on lap2.?? I suspect that he was actually giving it away for free and in large glasses Roll Eyes

I arrived at the scene just too soon to slow enough and pick a way through, so I aimed for a wide line and hoped to swing right around the outside of the developing mayhem. But, just when I though that I had been uber smart, that first tree has roots that just creep onto the edge of the tarmac and they grabbed my poor Brab and swung it against the trunk!!  By the time the Shift/R worked I was way down the field and by the time I had done a SnG 2 laps later any chance of getting on the podium looked very remote  Undecided.

I did enjoy pushing the BT11 around Oulton, but I think an excess of Wine and food might have dulled my already limited abilities, and I was running about 2 secs off my PB. good fun chasing cars back through the field and under the circumstances, 4th was not so bad.

Great fun guys. Have a wonderful 2017 and see you on track soon.   Wink

I know that I'm jumping the gun here,  seeing as Christmas is so far away...  eek
(& also posting to and old thread!)

But is there likely to be a jingle-jangle event at some point?  Smiley

Cheers,
Dave.

Dave,
Sounds like a good idea. My immediate problem, for organising or participating in such an event, is that I have not been able to access the UKGPL chatroom since around the time of one of the previous Windows 10 updates. As far as I know the channel name is "#ukgpl" & password is "savage". Not sure if it is connected but my profile is currently showing "user currently banned" apparently due to "e-mail providers". But I seem to be able to access the "gpl" chatroom.
