Yep, I am seriously considering cancelling all future Thursday events
It's no fun when a few dedicated people turn up, and don't have a decent field to race
I am happy to run things if people want them, but I seem to be not getting the mix right.
Shout up if you would like something in particular, otherwise Thursdays R3E is dead.  hang

I feel your pain mate. Sundays are also teetering on the brink for the same reasons. Personally I enjoy the racing even when there are only a few of us as I know the quality and driving standards are excellent.

May I also suggest maybe a different day or more recruitment is in order ?  Maybe start a poll.   I'd gladly help recruit but it's rare to find mature clean drivers using more than a game pad or keyboard in the open rooms.

Is Nogrip still a good source, I used to contribute there back in my simbin GTR2 days.

I agree mate.

We tried recruiting new members when we started running Raceroom events here and we had a few excellent drivers join us. Unfortunately they drifted off over time for various reasons and new members haven't come along. I continued to post our events on the Sector3 forum for some time but eventually gave up trying as there was little interest. I did the same at NoGrip but had even less interest there.

It doesn't help when I see members posting their events for other sims at other leagues which clash with ours.....I thought there were guidelines about that  Roll Eyes

I'll continue with Sundays until the end of our current season (end June?) but unless things pick up that'll be it for me. My new job/career means I don't have time or energy to continue if there is little interest.

It is hard to keep enthusiasm going, when you've got no one to race it just seems pointless at times. The harder the cars are to drive, or the more setup dependant they are, means the gaps are larger and weaker drivers like me don't have the skills to close those gaps. I thinks it's one reason I enjoy the NSUs so much. I can make fairly large mistakes without losing so much time I'll never see another car.

I am with Pete. I have always been an advocate of close racing here. I often would get into "discussions" with people
who complained that my car/track combos were not fun to Hot lap. I have never gone for hotlapping as a primary concern.

Tony still gets decent fields in GTL, though not without a lot of effort introducing new mods, and cars.
AC gets good grids because it has a good community following.

Perhaps I could try Thursdays Historic using AC?
I have never been too bothered about which sim I use. I like R3E because despite the shortcomings
it is IMHO a better sim for league racing.
