Moderator's Report

Nfsw\'s ping is terrible and he warps badly, causing a major crash in turn 4 on the opening lap. Somebody had warned him before the start that his ping was too high, but apparently he didn\'t see it. His ping has been an issue in the past, I\'ve seen him warp at 2 occassions, with 1 also causing a crash.
I think he is on Wifi, which obviously isn\'t suited for online gaming/racing.
My judgement on this, is that he should have his ping on his screen the whole time, if it spikes above 200 for a few seconds, or spikes for a second time but briefly during the race, he should quit out. His ping is low, so when it goes above 200, there is something wrong and 200 is way too high to race.
If he is still on Wifi he needs to fix that, as IMO it isn\'t worth risking 20 drivers for the fun of 1.

Difficult incident to moderate as it\'s outside of the racing really, but still it\'s reckless as he knows about the possible problem, but hasn\'t fixed it in those months.

  • nfsw55warning — Do not attempt online racing with high ping values
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Lap 2, turn 4 again. Alexey (Baikal) rear ends Picnic which then gets send into Denis, taking them both out. Maybe caught out by their braking point, but still unnecessary. Because 2 people were victim, I give this a 2x2, so 4 places lost.

So sorry that we are still haven't a fine version of this track.. This convert mode is absolutely old and surface mesh not exist..Absolutely flat surface.  Author is " done and forget"... Why Kunos ? Why others track makers don't done this legendary amazing track alive... Im crying. Where is such smile pic here?  Smiley  As i know- this convert still have a sectors counting bug ( esp when using pits).
BUT... Flat track surface will be not so bad for our Porsche Cup Jumping Car stage!   Cheesy
This track will brings a good battles here IMO  Smiley Thanks Mark!

I've found a different version of Hockenheim, which looks better and also has some bumps. Not sure where it comes from, maybe a rip though  Huh

Want to enlighten us? Do some digging see if it's legit enough to use here  Smiley

Must admit I think the version we've used before (as per my link) is perfectly good enough and makes for great racing but always happy to use an improved version. Hockenheim is pretty flat and smooth anyway being an f1 track  Undecided

Yeee. Thanks! This version is more modern and have better view and feelings IMHO . Converted from codecs made by enthusiasts ( good guys) Have 1 known issue on pit exit/ Just stay left side on pit exit and all will be ok. What track ver is more closer to real- i dont know )

Hmm I'm not sure this other version is better than the version we have already. The trackside eye candy is definitely better and more up to date but the track itself seems more bland, flat and less topographical   Undecided
I also get richer colours/filtration/lighting with our regular version.

I watched the real onboard again but can't really tell which is the more accurate. Interested to hear other opinions  Smiley

How are the laptimes comparing then?
New track is faster 1.5 sec. Because has surface grip 99 ( standart kunos tracks and T78 mod have proper 98 percents) It can be easy corrected by editing surface.ini simple text file ( very first tarmac section).
(C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\tracks\hockenheimring\data)
But before upload it to peoples and server!
So. Just tested both versions im my local server.
Newer version is more adequate for racing IMHO. First turn is not so dangerous. T78 is deadly here )))  Last turn is not dangerous too due more lower height track restrictors on left side. Graphics looks more better ( like kunos style tracks). Containing many more visual orientirs for braking.
T78 version has a mip levels visual bugs and overall graphics quality from early 2000s .
IMHO. If surface.ini will be corrected to tarmac section grip = 98 - Newer track uploaded by nfs55 will be better for me in race.
Why 98? More standart, more slips and more challenge IMHO.
But i'll take any Mark's desigion here.  Smiley

The "old" version has proven itself in the past, IMO it's a bit late to gamble on an untested version.
