Moderator's Report

Nfsw\'s ping is terrible and he warps badly, causing a major crash in turn 4 on the opening lap. Somebody had warned him before the start that his ping was too high, but apparently he didn\'t see it. His ping has been an issue in the past, I\'ve seen him warp at 2 occassions, with 1 also causing a crash.
I think he is on Wifi, which obviously isn\'t suited for online gaming/racing.
My judgement on this, is that he should have his ping on his screen the whole time, if it spikes above 200 for a few seconds, or spikes for a second time but briefly during the race, he should quit out. His ping is low, so when it goes above 200, there is something wrong and 200 is way too high to race.
If he is still on Wifi he needs to fix that, as IMO it isn\'t worth risking 20 drivers for the fun of 1.

Difficult incident to moderate as it\'s outside of the racing really, but still it\'s reckless as he knows about the possible problem, but hasn\'t fixed it in those months.

  • nfsw55warning — Do not attempt online racing with high ping values
    For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Lap 2, turn 4 again. Alexey (Baikal) rear ends Picnic which then gets send into Denis, taking them both out. Maybe caught out by their braking point, but still unnecessary. Because 2 people were victim, I give this a 2x2, so 4 places lost.

Was going to say it's working for me - but I now see why  Tongue
About to go have a go on it - luckily I haven't done any practice yet on the older one

Hey Mark, how wide are we allowed to go at turn 1?  Cheesy

Just watched the 2016 Carrera Cup race at Hockenheim and there it looks like the drivers were allowed to put all wheels off the tarmac, but be forced to have at least two wheels at the blue and white curb (the curb ingame isn't as broad as the real one though).

So looking at stracker times you guys are still much quicker on this new version despite The grip fix? Or is that because you are going well wide at T1 ?  Wink

T1 is much easier on this newer version but let me get some laps on it tonight and I'll decide how much run off we can use there.

This track just seems abit faster then the other one, even with the downgraded griplevel.

And I don't think going wide in T1 is much off an issue. In fact, I found it slower going over the bumpy curbs. Cutting the inside of T1 though is much more of an issue.

We have wide exit after Mercedes arena too. IMHO let us go wide here and on after T1 exit. It will be " no problema" desigion for all.
And don't cut T1 inside apex. Smiley
BTW,  i know how to set up a server that 3 wheels out in Qualy and 4 out in race . Its easy and working good.  Wink
So we can do it in future GP:
[SERVER]
bla bla bla
ALLOWED_TYRES_OUT=3

aaaand :
 [RACE]
NAME=Race
LAPS=68
ALLOWED_TYRES_OUT=4
WAIT_TIME=xxx
IS_OPEN=xxx

It's not documented and not official  kunos future but working.
 Wink
Also i know how to make a reverse grid for second race ( for future champs) . Mark can PM me if wants  Smiley

This feels like its getting messy.

Can you not rely on PLP to police the track cutting?

Let's not get hysterical  Wink  I take an adult view on track limits based on what has become more normal in GT racing. I'm not going to suddenly allow track excesses that gain some guys lots of time but what's acceptable does vary track to track.
I didn't manage to get any laps in tonight  Sad so I'll have to have a proper look tomorrow eve. Doesn't stop anyone practising  Wink

Spanner, going wider here in race - it's more for safety driving- not for lap time profit. Look to real vid )
In Qualy we can make 3 wheels out autocontrol in server side. I don't like wides and cuts in simracing. But i don't like to make a headache for admins and referee too in cuts counting   Smiley

Bit quiet on the praccy server tonight  Sad will assume everyones banging in 41's and 42's  Tongue

I see no reason to allow any excessive outer track limits here, so normal rules apply. I am fine with people using the outer verge on T1 just don't go swinging way out and then harpoon back onto the circuit. Be warned also that if you get a tyre onto that astro turf strip you can also get spat into the inside Armco...ask me how I know  Grin
Also fine with using the outer verge on the right hand corner that leads into the stadium complex, (turn12 - mobil1 kurve) its almost a necessity.

And make sure to download the track from first race post into 'content/tracks '  Smiley

I forgot another verge you can use without penalty, it's the one on outside of final turn onto the main start/finish straight. Again, it's de-rigeur  Smiley
