why oh why had kunos changed this car?? it was perfect the way it was, no need to screw with it whatsoever -.-

havent driven the new thing yet but losing time in slower corners and gaining time in faster corners just already sounds like they broke the car.

My yesterdays 15 min test talking me that Porsche is more accurate now. Now it has more understeer as it should be in rear- balansed Porsches.
In 1.11 it was incorrect- too much oversteery tyres. Kunos said about it earlier. Now it is corrected.
PS Just now i observed tyre phisics files for cup car. A lot of parameters changed. Absolutely new tyre. More dull now  Wink

Tested in track. IMHO - the tyres is... not good for me. Dull. Need 2-3 laps to brings PSI to range. Driving behavier is worse for me. Dull tyres.. Driving in droping wheels.  Not a good surprise for me  Smiley

For me I went immediately 4 secs slower with the default setup. Struggling to keep on the track  Shocked
Setups are different, seems to be less numbers in the aero? Once I had given it some wing
and increased the front ARB I could drive it, but still a second or so off my pervious best
it "seems" looser to ? the rear is a lot less planted, and is more likely to spin on corner entry
or exit.

They said it was altered based on information supplied from Porsche about not running asymmetrical roll bars.

I need to try the new default setup a bit more as I was quicker with my own stiffer roll bar config. last night.
Bet pre race practise is busier than normal tonight  laugh

Just done a bunch of laps and I've noticed the car has changed as well. They are much harder now, less forgiving and you can't get away with as much as you used to. I actually thought the car was a bit easy before but now it's a lot more alive, more feeling and more fun. I actually prefer it. A lot more focus is needed and I think we may see a lot more mistakes as cars run wide, understeer, spin or just mess up corners all together.

I've also gone much quicker than before dropping from a .49 to a .47 with default setup Smiley

I need to try the default setup more seriously as people seem to like it.
I couldn't do a complete lap with it at first.

Did a few laps yesterday evening and didn't notice any big differences. Best lap was within a tenth of my PB, so performance wise the car is still on the same level.

Mark, IMO, we needs server side control 3 wheels out in Qualy and 4 wheels out in race. How to do it- i wrote earlier.  Smiley

Sounds good Baikel assuming you don't mean all 4 wheels are allowed off track ? Did you post it in the Hockenheim race thread or the Porsche cup series thread?

Yes Mark.
" So we can do it in future GP:
[SERVER]
bla bla bla
ALLOWED_TYRES_OUT=3

aaaand :
 [RACE]
NAME=Race
LAPS=68
ALLOWED_TYRES_OUT=4
WAIT_TIME=xxx
IS_OPEN=xxx
"
I'll repeat that it working good in 1.12 too .  In qualy we will have 3 wheels cutting control ( if more - the lap will be invalid)
In race we will have cutting control disabled ( 4 wheels out alowed) .

No tyre blankets has become abit of a pain in the buttocks now though. Takes a good 2 laps of pushing to get the tyres up to pressure ( not temp, as the front stayed cool no matter what I did ). First corners on cold tyres is like driving on ice.

Also found that the car is abit more unstable under braking. Found the rear itching to the twist when braking. Rear tyres are less grippy in highspeed corners, but I found them more grippy on slow corner exits. Could go full throttle in 2nd gear out of the hairpin and, though the chicane still needs some caution, it's abit easier. However, in the slow hairpin, I did found the car to be bit less wanting to turn. I was losing about 2/10's around there ( that I won in the first few corners ).

Should be an interesting race  Grin

I would be happy to use the cutting options on the server control side (what do you think Pete?)

Yes I agree it takes a definite 3rd lap to get the tyres towards their working window now, possibly 4 laps. Fronts are always hard to get heat in a 911 as there is no weight over the front wheels. Tad more camber or front brake bias might help  Undecided
It's tempting to go for tyre warmers but will see how it goes tonight. You will all just have to rein in the horses until you can get some heat into the tyres, especially on these kerbs  Shocked

3 to 4 laps to warm up hard tires sounds far more realistic to me - before you could give the car beans from about 2/3rds in with little risk.
That's not something I observe in modern race cars on enduro-tires...

About to have my first go in the new car, will see what I think of the changes  Smiley

I can add it before I start the server at 7:15. You sound like you'd like that to happen.

As for tyre warmers, it's the same for everyone, just be careful on those opening laps and be respectful of the cars around you. Sounding like a stuck record I'm not keen on changing things that have a potential large effect in the middle of a season.
