Moderator's Report

Hat-trick for Rob with pole, fastest lap & a win in the BT24. The only driver to get a 1,19 lap. Other podium places were taken by Trisatn & Iestyn.
A lot of early baths but no reported incidents.

Season 31 Works Trophy – Round 1 –  Kyalami

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1967 season, the UKGPL season will take place on 10 of the 11 original circuits. For the first round of the season we go to a familiar track. Kyalami Racing Circuit (from Kyalami, My home in Zulu) is a motor racing circuit located in Midrand, Gauteng province, South Africa. The circuit has been used for Grand Prix and Formula One races and has hosted the South African Grand Prix many times.

IMPORTANT: it is policy of UKGPL to have the original pitstraight armco installed at this original track! Failure to apply the pitwall & drive in that space may result in disqualification. Follow these instructions to restore the wall if you have a mod that has removed it:
METHOD 1: To place a wall between the pits and the track, rename or remove the kyalami.trk and kyalami.3do files from your kyalami folder.
METHOD 2: To reinstall the original Papyrus Armco, rename or remove the Armco_s.mip file from your kyalami folder.

Race List = iGOR
Server = UKGPL_9
IP = see iGOR
Race date = Sunday 12-02-2017
Time = 21:00 UK time (21:00 GMT)
Track = Papyrus Original
Race length = 37 Laps (50 minutes)
Variant = 1967
60fps patch used   = 60fpsV2newmod
Damage Model = Pro
Qualifying time = 30-45 minutes

Replays Available here

TEMPORARY REPLAY LINK: https://www.sendspace.com/file/7vvc08

Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page

The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.  Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left.

This Season we don't have a Red Zone. Moderating will be on reported incidents only. If you haven't received a PM about an incident before the link below the results table is removed, you can be sure that you will not appear in the moderator's report.

The chassis token system is explained on the Works standings page. Please ensure you choose a chassis that is within your budget, which can be seen by hovering the mouse over your points total in the standings.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

This seasons 67 series is very well supported. The Works have 17 full time & 6 reserve drivers. The Privateers 9 & 9. There is risk that the Works grid will overflow. If there are a couple of Works drivers who don't mind dropping down to Privateers that might help. To be fair anyone dropping down would be expected to take a voluntary chassis handicap. Please send  PM to me or Samb if you are interested. Aliens need not apply.

Hi Billy, given that I am a reserve I was thinking of also registering for privs so in the worst case at least I get a race.  I accept the need to take a slower horse!

Please confirm whether OK

Fulvio - I have entered you for the Privateers.

I think we now have a reasonably even split of drivers on both grids.

Disconnected after one lap  Huh
 I'm disapointed and very upset, because I spend a lot of time preparing the races, I do not watch TV, and if it happens again, I stop everything.
I do not understand why such a disconnection Huh Huh

good luck for all

Not very impressed with my efforts so far this season. Thought I'd take the Fezza this race and the pace was pretty good, but that came to nothing as I crashed out on my own accord in the race.

Very similar circumstances to last week's Historics race. Locked a front wheel under braking and under-steered off. Seems my finesse on the brakes is getting worse in my old age  Roll Eyes.

I could always upgrade to load cell solution, but that would mean spending money I don't have  Grin.

Well Sam, I'm not sure if that is better or worse than:-

a)  deliberately qualifying at the rear of the grid in a car I loathe ( the BRM!) Undecided
b)  taking things easy on lap 1 to avoid the inevitable "incidents" Grin
c) avoiding at least 3 incidents and about 6 cars in the first half a lap Wink
d) coming upon yet another melee and slowing enough to avoid getting involved Roll Eyes
e) getting punted into the air from behind and waiting to see if I land on 4 wheels sweatdrop
f) discover that I am on 4 wheels and the car is undamaged...woohoo! sorcerer
g) realise that I am now on the wrong side of the armco cursing
h) there ain't no way back onto the tarmac at Kyalami no matter how far you drive!!! taz taz taz taz taz taz taz taz taz
