It went off when I was on, but seemed to last only an hour or 2 apparently.

Definitely a tricky track though, has been awhile since I last raced it. Need some more laps looking at stracker. Speaking of which, are you gonna join this season again here ( or the Porsche cup at Core ) Jeffrey ?  Grin

Where on earth are you making the 3 seconds MK?! I'm sure you will crash at that speed.  Kiss

In fact I'd pretty much wager my left eye-ball that this race will be a crash fest. I'm in two minds whether to race on Wednesday. I have nothing to play for in the championship and although this track is challenging and sort of fun to hot lap, I can't see it being a good track to race at especially with the known over-drivers ready to block the track when they smash it against the wall and then carry anyway because the damage level is too low and then punt slower drivers up the rear through the twisties when they "didnt expect them to brake so early".

Simon, I actually thought this after the last race at VIR but you are much braver than me to say it out loud Smiley I'm expecting a crash fest also through the twisties and as the track is so narrow, I have even contemplated not qualifying or starting from the pit lane. I predicted the last two races would be crash fests and this track is the hardest of them all. Fingers crossed I'm wrong as all to play for in the championship.

Raced this track in 1,5h GT3 races in champ.  With no significant car damade and total repairs. 30 pilots staying on track. Sure- some of them sometimes crashed, but it was not in law  Smiley

Bunch of sissies, don't like a challenge!  Roll Eyes I get the same crying if ever the Nurburgring is hinted at   Tongue. We can't always race at neat little wide circuits  hammer
Embrace the challenge!  Smiley if you suspect the guy ahead is going to put it in the wall just hang back a bit. Let's face it, no overtaking is likely to be achievable in the middle sector on the hill but that still leaves good opportunitys at plenty of other corners.

I am thinking of allowing tyre warmers for this round. It's Australia and temps are high enough so we shouldn't be skating around on cold tyres for two long laps. It will only end with guys clipping walls and/or causing a pileup. Just don't get used to them  Wink

I'd still not use them, this gives an opportunity for people to benefit from other's mistakes.
Maybe crank the temperature up, so it's more like Australia and tyres heat up better.

Yes but as the ladies above mentioned, I would like to avoid a pileup on lap 1 or 2 because someone over drives on the cold tyres and puts it in a wall with a long train behind them. I don't mind increasing track temps to compensate though don't know what affect that will have on tyres later in the race.  Undecided

Aussi temp temps seem to 'average' around 40-45 from watching the V8's - As for what will this do to tyres? Who cares! As long as AC handles it realistically then I'm happy  Grin
Need to do some practice with that said - I've only driven an RSR around here so far...

I don't mind what we do, just saying, based on previous races, I think we are going to be in for another eventful evening Smiley Personally I don't like the idea of tyre warmers being introduced as I've never really had an issue with cold tyres at the start and I don't like changing things mid season. I think just run the race as normal but hike the temps up to be more in like with real Australian temps.

Agree with this. As long as everyone just makes sure to take it abit easy the first lap and doesn't try to do any dangerous overtakes in the twisty bit, it shouldn't be that bad. Raced a 2 hour GT2 race on this track and besides a few minor incidents it went pretty well ( only brushed the wall once  Grin ). Also did a Ford Escort race which was surprisingly clean aswell.

Where on earth are you making the 3 seconds MK?! I'm sure you will crash at that speed.  Kiss

It actually wasn't that bad. In the 19 laps I did I only had one crash, one tiny brush against a wall and one time I spun around exiting the pits on cold tyres  Roll Eyes
