OK Guys, I have booked tickets for Andy and myself for the weekend at Brands Hatch.

We are planning to arrive on Friday 30th and pitch our tent at the circuit in the free camping area, that gives us all of Saturday and Sunday to watch the action before travelling homewards on Sunday evening.

I will make contact with Malcolm Shaw to see when he is going to be at the track, although he will not be able to present the trophy to Robert ( again!!) as Robert cannot make it this year.

For anyone interested in joining us for the weekend or just the day the details are here...
http://www.brandshatch.co.uk/calendar/2017/july/hscc-01-02-july.aspx  Compared to Goodwood Revival it is a bargain at £29 for the whole weekend.

If last years event is anything to go by, then it was great entertainment with many of the cars from the 60's and 70's and just NOT crowded with acres of space to view the action. Free access to the paddock and adequate catering and refreshment outlets.

If any of you are contemplating a visit, drop me a PM and we can exchange mobile numbers so that we can actually find each other at the track.

I'm in the UK and have been given permission to attend - Not sure which car I'll be in yet or which tent for that matter.
I'll update once I've booked my tickets

Tickets finally ordered - should I bring my large tent so we can make use of the lounge or do you normally slink off to the nearest pub of an evening?

!!!!! what are you suggesting tim???  Shocked Implying that the fine upstanding gentlemen of UKGPL might be found in a house of ill repute when the sun goes down???

Of course we will!!  Cheesy
But, it might be an idea to bring your large tent if you can, because the catering establishments are not 24 hrs. I will PM you my mobile No...look for the large purple tent with a silver Mondeo Estate alongside.

See you there on Sunday Bill  Wink . Not sure if Phil is coming this year? he did post a few months back that he might put in an appearance.

Something to tidy up perhaps... The JSMT is all about finding a winner of the race series. Emphatically, that was Robert Fleurke, winning all three races, but what else happened?

There were incidents, but none reported. At Adelaide there was a mass disco just past half race distance for most of the remaining field, yet it doesn't matter because Robert was already the JSMT winner by then.
The top six were awarded points as in 9,6,4,3,2,1. Works standard drivers were limited to the BRM, Honda, Cooper or Brabham, using a different car for each race. No non Works drivers made the top six in any race, despite this handicap and two Eagle friendly tracks.
19 drivers attended Carthage, 17 were at Tripoli, 16 at Adelaide.
Largest gap was Robert (1st) to Doni (2nd) at Adelaide of 1.33.723
Smallest gap was Andy (5th) to Iestyn (6th) at Tripoli of 0.017 seconds hahaha!
Robert was the only driver to score at all three races and the only one to have an odd number total.

1st Robert 27 points
2nd= Tris and Doni 8
4th= Tim and Axel 6
6th= Greg, Clive, Pelle and Dean 4
10th= Andy and Iestyn 2

If anyone else thinks that they might like to come along and meet Malcolm, watch some historic racing, laugh at our regional accents/baldness/facial hair then PM somebody that you know is going and we will arrange to meet up at Brands Hatch this weekend.

I'll be there. I've managed to get Monday off work so it won't be a rush up the motorway after the races. Planning to arrive Saturday morning and camp Saturday night.

Hoping for dry weather!

Great news Phil, See you at Brands Hatch. Rain or Shine the company will make it worthwhile.

If anyone else is contemplating going, even for just a single day, drop me a PM and I will give you my Mobile No so that we can hook up at the circuit,

Have a great weekend guys, can't believe it has been a year already I went there with Tommie. In a way I regret not being able to come this year, who knows next year again! Wink

There is a slight chance I might meet up with Malcolm & Bev who go to Zolder Historic GP early August, but not sure yet...

We will miss you and Tommie this year for sure, but hopefully you will meet Malcolm and Bev at Zolder.

Hmmmmmm Zolder in August? now there's a thought  Roll Eyes, but that might be stretching my wife's goodwill a little too far this year  Undecided

Clive and Tim battle for the lead down Paddock Hill as Phil holds back to take advantage of the possible incident at Druids.
