Moderator's Report

Tristan takes the win at the ring, starting from P4 & collecting fastest lap along the way. The other podium places were taken by FMG & Iestyn.

Server replay time: 0h03m12s

While recovering from an earlier incident Robert is chasing Andreas for position. Unfortunately there is not quite room to complete the pass on the inside once allowing for Andrea\'s turn in point. On this occasion Andreas accepts Robert\'s apology & asks for any penalty to be waived.

Season 31 Works Trophy – Round 6 –  Nurburgring

After a short break the second half of the season gets underway. So far there have been 5 different winners. Dean Logan has a narrow lead in the championship over Tristan & FMG, although he has scored points in every round.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1967 season, the UKGPL season will take place on 10 of the 11 original circuits. For the sixth round of the season we contest the German GP at the infamous Nurburgring.

After World War II, racing resumed in 1947 and in 1951, the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring again became the main venue for the German Grand Prix. On 5 August 1961, during practice for the 1961 German Grand Prix, Phil Hill became the first person to complete a lap of the Nordschleife in under 9 minutes, with a lap of 8 minutes 55.2 seconds in the Ferrari 156 "Sharknose" Formula One car. Over half a century later, the highest-performing road cars have difficulty breaking 8 minutes without a professional race driver or one very familiar with the track
By the late 1960s, the Nordschleife and many other tracks were becoming increasingly dangerous for the latest generation of F1 cars. In 1967, a chicane was added before the start/finish straight in order to reduce speeds at the pit lane entry. Even this change, however, was not enough to keep Stewart from nicknaming it "The Green Hell" following his victory in the 1968 German Grand Prix amid a driving rainstorm and thick fog.

Replays Available here

Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page

The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.  Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left.

This Season we don't have a Red Zone. Moderating will be on reported incidents only. If you haven't received a PM about an incident before the link below the results table is removed, you can be sure that you will not appear in the moderator's report.

The chassis token system is explained on the Works standings page. Please ensure you choose a chassis that is within your budget, which can be seen by hovering the mouse over your points total in the standings.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

And there's a moderation backlog that may affect at least one result.  Undecided

Damn it! That was all my fault. I apologize. I downshifted one too many times. And then I shifted back into 1st with no throttle which made me spin. I couldn't think fast enough to realize I needed to coast into the turn after having shifted to neutral. Sorry Pelle and any others I damaged.

Hit the Bergwerk sign on lap 2. Other than that, was doing OK. Hitting the sign further up the road near the hill did my right front.

When Greg went off at T1 got distracted and hit him when he bounced back on track. A lot of hits after that and the car was bent, and lost a lot of time and positions...car behaved bad in the right corners, very tight/understeer, and loose/oversteer in the left corners...

Had the red mist and was unpatient with Andreas, I outbraked myself and took him out at Aremberg. That was a bad decision by me and Andreas suffered dmg. Let him go and lost more positions.

Picked up a few positions when Roo let me by and Dean went of at T1 on lap 3. Caught up with Sam, and he lifted when I got a tow and got alongside at the long backstraight. Picked up some more damage but this brought back the balance slightly...also had a spin or 3 and hit the barriers a few times...

Last lap would still have been fast lap of the race but had a halfspin at Schwalbenschwanz, and lost 1-2s...it was a frustrating race driven in anger...

Grats Tris and podium, well done finishers Wink

2nd is good for me I guess - After seeing Greg's qualifying time I gave up hope of victory unless he made an error.
He did, but I was partially collected by it and dropped to 6th I think as a result. A couple of drivers waved me by; Didn't see who as was concentrating too much much but thank you all the same.
Sam on the other hand made me do it the hard way  Grin Foregone conclusion that one as he was in a BRM Tongue

My biggest plus to take away here was that I knocked 11 seconds! off my PB Shocked
That was also done in a Lotus, about 7 years ago so has made my evening  Cool

Not much to say about this race, again! Sundays are not good days for me to race. My aim was simply to finish. Started near the back to try to avoid any incidents (which mostly I did) but got a snap of oversteer at the bridge of Schwalbenschwanz, hit the wall & lost a wheel.

Grats all finishers, thanks admins Smiley

Hopefully I can re-gain some form for the latter half of the season.

An extremely scruffy race even for my mediocre standards. By qualifying at the towards the back I avoided the first lap incident and was promoted to an unlikely third. From then though, it was a case of falling backwards. Tim & Robert were far too quick for me and overtook easily on the straight, but enjoyed the scrap through the twisty sections all the same  Smiley.

That left me in 5th, battling with Dean, but it seemed we were doing our best giving each other 5th place through numerous spins. Eventually I lost the back end a few corners after the Karussell and rolled the car on the banking. Just as well I suppose. Never cracked the 'Ring in the '67 brutes.

Congrats to all finishers on this demanding track.

Thanks for righting me, btw!  Cheesy

I signed the "tough as ****" Brab out of the garage for this one, and needed it.  Nearly a minute off my last run here, through various oopses. Tongue

No Problem, Robert. But had small damage anyway and lost it after at Pflanzgarten. Wheel came off and I limbed to the Box. That was it.  Sad
