although not my best results ever, Laguna was good fun. Nice to see a good bunch of drivers turn up.

Thanks to Clive for setting it up, and Nicky for hosting.

Yes very enjoyable & quite valuable practice for the forthcoming race.

So if you win a B.R.E.A.S.T.'s race do you get a cup (or 2?)  Wink

Thanks to all those who turned up and enjoyed the fun, maybe we should schedule our races to be unofficial practice sessions for upcoming UKGPL 65 rounds?

The only prize for winning a Breasts race Al, is a big grin  Grin...plus of course making yourself a marked man for the next outing Roll Eyes  Wink

Sorry I could not stay for the second race, real life intervened but was slowly finding the limits for the Brab and tweaking the setup.

I noticed that some people simply imported setups from other circuits, which is usually a good idea. But Laguna runs anticlockwise, so most setups will be offset the wrong way for tyre cambers etc,. If you found your car not behaving it might be worth checking, and switching the cambers???

That would be a great idea, and ideal for me as I need all the practice I can get Smiley

Are we dropping the 69 races? That would be a shame as I really enjoy them, but if there isn't the demand for the race we should try something else. My vote is for Thunder Cars Smiley

Personally I would like to use the 69's, just because they are something different and challenging. Wink

But, there has to be enough enthusiasm and drivers to make it worthwhile. Last night the consensus view seemed to be more 65 mod racing.

Perhaps it would be useful if we can get everyone's view about this? and have a quick vote on who wants to have regular 69 ( or Thundercar?) races after the main 65 event.

Last night in Chat there didn't seem to be an concensus about anything!
Personally I'm not a big fan of 69 mod. Having spent ages trying to get the hang of cars with no downforce the wings feels a bit like cheating & it's another set up variable to wrestle with.
I'm guessing the selection of Laguna was a coincidence but the opportunity of a test run for next weeks championship with a reasonably full grid was a bonus. The scheduled Breasts races don't coincide with the remaining UKGPL calendar. My vote would, therefore, go for a Breasts race, as announced, plus a warm up for the next UKGPL race. (65 mod ~ but can be flexible). I'm not good enough to pitch up without some practice so minimising the amount of tracks works for me.
Anyhow ~ just my opinion.

I copied over my East London setup and reversed the cambers + tire pressures (if not symmetric). Then I did a few laps and adjusted the gears, and bits of the suspension, but overall it worked right out of the box. The main thing is to copy over from a track with similar characteristics, e.g. altitude changes or not, flat or cambered corners, slow or fast corners.

As for running 69s, the problem IMO is you need different specific tracks for 69s. Just like some tracks work better for 65 mod, there are tracks which give much better and comfortable racing with 69s. And there's the problem of making setups for them, which isn't quite possible with these races' 20 minutes practice sessions and I doubt many of us can do additional offline practice.

BTW, can't we have separate threads for reports after each race, so we don't post in the same thread and going off-topic so to speak?
