Excellent race - It looked like Tris would walk it after my astoundingly stupid trip into the sand at Parabolica (actually entered slower than usual -
that normal problem

Only then he lost it himself in the same place and dropped back into the hands of Bastian and Doni, which allowed me to slowly close with my under-powered Cooper.
After Doni and Tris then lost it I was left battling Bastian. I definitely had pace in the corners but he could out drag me so easily on the straights it was fairly disheartening.
After testing him for about 2/3rds of the race while being as big as possible in the mirrors and yet also trying to stay out of accidents, I finally decided to up my gamesmanship entering the final lap.
My intention was essentially to force enough of a mistake to hold 1st for a lap so I fired up the inside of Para.
We managed about half the turn without issue but when I changed down into 2nd and kicked the back out I felt a crunch through the wheel and spied a spinning Bastian entering the sand.
Not really how I planned on winning so I waited.. Couldn't pass him again over the rest of the lap so 2nd will have to do
Very well done handling the pressure Bastian and well done to Andy on 3rd.
Shame Tris was lost early on although he would have made it even harder for me to stay with the lead group!
(And to think I was going to take the Ferrari!
