 SEASON 31 Amateurs Trophy (65) : Round 8 SEBRING

The first 12 Hours of Sebring was held on March 15, 1952, and the event would grow to become a major international race. In 1959, the racetrack hosted the first Formula One Grand Prix in the United States. Due to the poor attendance and high costs, the next United States Grand Prix was held at Riverside.

For much of Sebring's history, the track followed a 5.2 miles (8.4 km) layout. In 1967, the Webster Turn between the hairpin and the top of the track was removed and replaced with the faster Green Park Chicane, which was closer to the hairpin and allowed a flat-out run through a very fast corner to the top of the track and the runway; this made the circuit 50 yards longer. The circuit was also widened. Many of these changes were prompted by the 1966 12 Hours where 5 people were killed during the race. Another dangerous section was the Warehouse straight; after a crash where a Porsche went into one of the warehouses and into a crowd, the organizers installed a chicane to move the Warehouse straight further away from the warehouses and buildings. We will use the 1967 layout.

Hooray! My steering wheel, pedals and shifter are fixed. I made a mistake on my first attempt. I used a multimeter to help me find the problem. I am relieved that I do not have to buy a new wheel yet. I will try to race on Tuesday.

Sorry that I missed the race. My son and his cousins were playing on the computer.

Good battle with Mike - making generous use of his tow. About 4 laps from the end I hit the hay bales & flipped the car. Fingers landed on the Escape rather than Shift R. Another dumb mistake but a half credible performance.

Good, fun race, qualified second and was running well in second but made a mistake and Dave got past.

Made a cheeky move up the inside but was sliding and lost speed in front of him and he hit me.

Started chasing him again and was catching up but made a mistake and lost time on the grass so it became all about securing third from Billy which was fun until I saw him airborne in the mirrors.

Had a late accident too when I got an itchy foot and managed to flip the car on a lovely straight piece of road while attending to it.

Had a SnG and just brought it home with Billy gone and no more threat from behind.

Excluding the fact that my Internet have abbandoned me,on this track i'm not fast.I don't know how is due to the BRM and how to the pilot.
I wait the replay to compare with other cars and pilots.

I should have client replays for both, but presumably you are after replays from the server?

Cheers,
Dave.
