Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 61s

3 Cars are heading side by side into turn 1. Phspok on the outside and Postal and Picnic on the inside. Postal\\\'s and Picnic\\\'s car connect, which sends both cars to the right, where unfortunatly is a bridge, which Picnic hits.
I didn\\\'t see anybody change its line or make an unexpected move, so I can\\\'t see a penalty being applied here, eventhough the results was a DNF for Picnic.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 61s

Guiseppe Reali outbrakes himself and takes out Baikal.
He decides to wait for Baikal to let him past. The moment Baikal goes by Reali, is when Apexthechusa comes around the corner and slams into Baikal, who in return gets send into Reali.
That part looked very clumsy and I would just like to say, please wait for somebody at a safe spot and be cautious when rejoining and approaching an incident.

  • Giuseppe Realipenalty — Outbraking, resulting in side contact — 2 places lost

I have to give this one a miss unfortunately. Had a few exploratory laps which were good fun but I'm catching up with some friends this evening while I'm on hols.

First off, thanks to all who showed up. I expected single digit grid, hence I opted for fairly short race and quick qually, so this is a nice bonus Smiley.

Qually was closer than expected, I thought there would have been more drama with incidents, but was far as I could tell, that wasn't the case during qually.

Had a bad start, as I had no idea what to expect. Was very cautious at the start and got swamped, but that led to amazing fights with Matteo, Gavino and fmg. Side by side with Matteo through turn 1 and 2 and the same with Gavino through "Valley of the lefts"  Shocked. I was struggling with pace in a crowd, but once I had some free space I was able to slowly get closer to Felix, but he was too fast to try anything.

Oh, and I think a guy called Maikel also joined. Never saw him, but he was on the timing table  Grin

Maybe a server disconnect or something. Because I saw you all at the start but after the first lap you were nowhere to be seen    Cool

Tonight went much better then I expected. During practice the car just felt right and I even managed to do a 37, no idea how I managed that and I can't seem to find the practice session anywhere to save  Grin

I took it abit cautious for the quali but it seems I wasn't the only one as I think the top 8 or so was pretty close.
The start was good with Gavino right on my tail until the last corner of the Valley of the lefts ( what a brilliant name btw for a bunch of corners  Tongue ) where he ran wide. After that it was pretty much a "trying not to make too many mistakes and save those rear tyres" race. It seemed to work since the rears weren't even yellow by the end.
But it was still a blast since this track is really good with these kinds of cars. I also had to push in order to give everyone another lap since I crossed the finish line with only a second or two on the clock.  Grin

This combo is definitely going in the favorites book.
Next up though Vallelunga, my not so very favorite track  Grin

Kept out of trouble for the whole race, was keeping a close eye on Stefan's pace as he would normally be my main rival.

I ended up in an orange skinned car so there would appear to be a problem there.

Just a small point, could drivers be a little more careful when rejoining the track. There was one occasion when I got a bit of a tank slapper on when a car just pulled out and didn't get up to speed.

Race of two halves for me again, a reverse of Silverstone though.  Sad

Qually went as expected, ran wide on cold fronts and got a cut penalty. I think we should up the qually to two flying laps personally, but then at least its fun fighting through the field of cars so cant complain too much. Just that one lap here is a nightmare to get right on cold fronts.

Started about 3rd from back, got a good start but someone had a contact on my right and their errant car nudged me off the track into fast downhill T1, but no harm done other than lost seconds.
Then had a fantastic climb up through the field from about 17th to 8th or 9th hanging onto ChrisR's shirt strings as we carved our way through. Sadly it then all went pear shaped dead on half distance at 15mins, as following Stefan too closely I missed a braking point and ran off into the sand  :'( This must have got me all hot and bothered as then had a nightmare with a huge tank slapper at the final turn that lost me about 30 seconds... a disaster with the pace showing tonight and just no way I could re-cover it. I had a very messy middle race for some reason with tyre locking and understeering off etc, very frustrating, then suddenly I was back on the pace again and lopping heaps of time off the guys ahead  Huh
Finished 12th I think, a disappointing finish as I really enjoyed this combination of car and track and had the pace for a top 10 finish.

Congrats to the consistent and quick runners up front  Cool

Lucky old you, I got hit twice before the first corner, the second hit sending me off the track in a spin. For those quick guys who **** up qualifying please show more respect for those of us who did an ok job. Waste of an evening for me as a result.

Side by side with Matteo through turn 1 and 2 and
3 and 5  Grin Grin

Really nice race even if the result wasn't so good.
Bad quali lap put me in 6th place, but after an aggressive start I found myself in 4th place. At the end of the firt lap Gavino went on the sand gifting me the 3rd place. I then started to chase Felix but we were pretty on the very same pace during the first laps, so I wasn't able even to try a move on him. Jeffrey in the meantime was waiting for a small mistake and after a few laps it happened.
I had a bad exit speed at the last corner so Jeffrey was able to get alongside my car before the first corner and we went side by side for corner 1 and 2. Than Jeffrey was on the inside so I let him by before the braking for corner 3 in which I braked earlier than before. That allowed me to exploit a better exit speed and get alongside Jeffrey's car again, this time with me on the inside line. We did all the corner few inches by each other and on the subsequent braking I quite manage to do one of the best overtakes of my entire simracing career, passing Jeffrey on the outside of the left corner before the Valley of the lefts. I was excited at the point that after few corners I did make a gift to Jeff going wide at "The Hairpin".
From that moment I was so sweated at the point that my eyes were burning, so I just tried to dry the forehead during the straight and finish my race. Cheesy

Grats to Maikel, showing a great pace here, and also to Felix and Jeffrey for a well deserved podium.

I should be there for the last race before my holidays next week. In that case I will race with a bandana on my head  Grin

See you Wink

My mantra for this race was just to take it easy and try to survive a clean race. That lasted about 5 seconds into my qually lap when I screwed up the first corner..

So started at the back alongside MJ. He got away lightly by the 2 cars ahead of us coming together, but I got taken out before the first corner. Not ideal, but actually the race after that, trying to catch back up with the cars ahead, was a lot of fun. Hard work, but fun.

Really enjoyed this car here, great combination. Congrats to the podium.

NOTE I'll be reviewing the first lap and handing out penalties if required, even for incidents that didn't get reported. If you want an incident after lap 1 looked at, you need to submit an incident report via the normal way.
