SEASON 31 Amateurs Trophy (65) : Round 10 WATKINS-GLEN
For the last round we cross the Atlantic to the United States. Watkins Glen International (nicknamed "The Glen") is an automobile race track located in Watkins Glen, New York, at the southern tip of Seneca Lake. It was long known around the world as the home of the Formula One United States Grand Prix, which it hosted for twenty consecutive years (1961–1980), but the site has been home to road racing of nearly every class, including the World Sportscar Championship, Trans-Am, Can-Am, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the International Motor Sports Association and the IndyCar Series.

The circuit is known as the Mecca of North American road racing and is a very popular venue among fans and drivers. The facility is currently owned by International Speedway Corporation.

Check the Season 31 details regarding rules and the Amateurs (65) Trophy pages in particular.

My worst result of the season but had a fun race anyway.

I was hanging off Bastian's tail pipes for the first 16 or so laps and finally got past but when he came back through I turned in too early at the Scoop and caught his wheel which put me off.

A reset and a Stop n Go later I was out of the running and 7 or 8 seconds ahead of Billy until I spun out of the last corner and he went through.

Had a great battle with him for the rest of the race and made my way past but my extra fuel load meant I couldn't break his tow and he kept closing in before making it past with 2 to go when I was slow out of the last corner again.

Had some fun battles and close racing but the result didn't matter too much as I was already second in the Championship.

Looking forward to next season.

Had a fun race. I was off the pace and my only chance to be anywhere near competitive was to stay in the tow of another car.

Initially I was sat behind Billy until he went off at the infamous loop.  I then managed to tuck in behind Dave R for the rest of the race who drove the Honda extremely well soaking up any pressure I could place on him, including a couple of laps with a recovering Bastian.

Congratulations on the championship Dave.

Hopefully may be able to make some more races next season now life has settled down a bit again.

Glad I stuck with it. Lap 5 I put a wheel on the dirt with a stop & go. Lap 16 before Mike had an incident & a great nose to tail race after that. Grats to my team mate David for the championship. Gareth was the fastest driver but David won on consistency & appearances.
