Tried to join the server but only the older Audi R8 LMS Ultra is available, the newer Audi R8 LMS 2016 is missing.

@ nfsw55, I see what you mean, i have checked my driver file and it definitely says 2016 on it. I will contact picnic tomorrow morning to see if he can shed any light on it. I will update the thread as soon as I hear anything.

I've restarted the server and swapped the old Audi for the ks_audi_r8_lms_2016 one. Sadly I'm not clued up enough to know what is a GT3 and what is not, especially when it doesn't have GT3 in its name  Embarrassed

Hi Racers,

The List in 'reply#8' for pre booked cars has now been saved, but there are plenty of spaces left if you want to just turn up tonight and log on manually. I am looking forward to this one, I think it is the first Sunday night race at Lemans since the GTR2 days! a few points to remember:

1. The password is a new one so don't forget to check the details on the race page
2. It is a ROLLING START tonight so we will need to complete the first lap at a slow pace to warm up the tyres (I don't mind if the leader picks up the pace a bit on the first two thirds of the lap as it is a long lap)
3. The pitstop app in AC was updated a couple of months ago, so if you haven't used it recently it is worth doing a practice pitstop before hand to familiarise yourself with the procedure

I just tried to request a booking only to get told I can't join for another 53 minutes  Huh Thought practise was open from 19.15?

I haven't done any practise for this as I lost interest when only 10 names were up for it tbh, on a big track like this for an hour  Undecided but I'll give it a go as I love this circuit and the gt cars.

You can't join during booking - it's there for late arrivals to turn up and be able to select the car they want. You'll have to practice offline until booking has closed and practice has started.

If you're (as you are) already on the driver list you don't need to book.

With such a low turnout on such a big track I really didn't hold out much hope of enjoying that but funny enough I did enjoy it. Just the experience of lapping a gt3 porker on this fabled circuit was enough to keep me entertained. The mod conversion is very good, I knew the track after just two laps as it was so familiar from all the Le Mans coverage I've watched over the years.

This needs to be run as a proper yearly event around the real event with a good size grid. I nearly did back in June but we were in full swing with the Blancpain series. Opportunity missed!

The race ended in a 1 hour hotlap session for me as well, but which wasn't bad at all tbh.
The track looks very good for an old conversation (should be from rfactor or rfactor2, but converted with permissions afaik) and when I suddenly noticed that the race duration would be 1h+1 lap and I need to pit for a second time things heated up for a second or two Wink

Thanks for organizing this event SRW, I really like those little fun races besides the league racing. Maybe running them on another evening in the week will result in a greater turnout.
Next one LMP1 cars @Le Mans I guess? Grin

I am sorry i missed the race yesterday gusy. Like mentioned, this track is always good fun to be lapping in a good race car. Maybe if momentum is picking up for sunday nights racing we should re-run it.

It does sound like a few guys were busy doing other things so may not be a representation of future attendance. Being this is the first sunday night AC event held here in some considerable time it may take perseverance to to get people to want to race here and not elsewhere.

I have been considering doing some AC events on Thursdays continuing the Thursday evening
traditional "historic" theme. I am wondering if there would be any more interest than we get
for R3E at the moment?
