......................., and I feel for Clive and his PC woes

Me too!

However, I must say that being back on track with a good field of GPLers felt rather like coming home, so I shall keep hammering away at it!

New Power Supply is on the way.

Many thanks for all the help.  I took Axel's advice and ditched Avast.  I immediately saw 60fps at one point on Spa67 so that looks good.  If the PSU was going dicky then I'm hoping that replacing it will restore things to their former glory!

Hope that you can join us on Wednesday Will, I still remember some epic battles with you in the past  Wink

I had the Connaught running quite well in Qually , but made a rookie mistake when I joined the race with the wrong setup. The 4 x 3 grid felt very correct for these cars, even if it was a little scary going dpwn to T1!!

Yes Sir. Thanks for the heads up for the Wednesday event. I shall try to be in Argentina.

I build a set-up for the Connaught yesterday but my times were nearly a second off your qually time. Any chance I could sample your qually set-up? Otherwise there may be no battle and you'll disappear into the Argentina sunset..... Cool

 Thanks. Will

If you can PM me with your current email address Will. I will send you my ( hopefully the correct) race setup.  Be warned,  as it does require a lot of controlled drifting to extract a decent time!!  Wink

Thanks your Evilness. Yes, I just watched a bit of the replay and was amazed how much you drift. Awesome technique. Look forward to giving it a go albeit I will probably resemble my current avatar. lol Cheers.

Grats to Tris, Axel & Tim!  Great job.

And condolences to Tris on the recent passing of his mother.  Never anything you accept or get over easily.

I had quite some fun and for a while, it looked like I'd be on for a decent P4 placing but Bas recovered very well from his Lap01 off and reeled me in over the closing frames.  He passed for the position with just over a lap to go and I prepared to launch a counter-attack when I felt my engine splutter coming off the hairpin.  A quick check of the fuel pressure and...  Groan...  I'm coming up short!  I pussy-footed it to the point of coasting for some of the last lap to hang onto P5 from a rapidly closing Andreas.  Good fun just the same.

This event back in '55 was notorious for its blisteringly hot weather.  As many as three drivers shared rides.  For Wednesday's go, to make it entirely realistic for the race back in the day, I plan to close all windows, crank up the furnace to 40°C, put on a wool sweater and take no refresher drinks during the race.  Smiley

I really enjoy the '55 mod.  I wonder if I could talk Axel into hosting and the membership to join a race staged at Indianapolis('ims' track folder).  It's rather fun and a challenge!

I was really enjoying that one, not sure exactly what position I was in at the time (To busy trying to keep track of brake state). But eventually succumbed to a disco crossing the S/F line somewhere around lap 16. I think I was running 4th at the time and spent the entire race with FMG up my chuff and I was aware I was holding him up a bit but each time I made a mistake I think he was sucked into a similar error and somehow I managed to get out of each corner still in front.

Can't make Wednesday's race unfortunately but plan of trying to get to Monaco.

Hi Clouds,
There is a link it the 1st post in this thread. It should take you to the directory where the replay is loaded. (You can move up directories to find replays from other series).
