Join us one Thursday night, next race is https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=14545.0
I can't race RRE because it's triple screen support involves single screen rendering and that makes me feel sick and I ain't going down to a single screen!
Presumably I would have to buy the car?
I would not be popular racing 3 nights of the week!

I need to spend some time with settings for Rift support, sat way to far forward or FOV is wrong. AC just works with it.

You would but if you just bought a single skin it's ony a couple of quid.

You would here Tongue

I need a sprinkling of pace dust to find those extra secs a lap that the top 4 have otherwise I'm destined for a lonely series. I actually considered parking up last night at lack of action but stuck to it for the points.

It's something I'll consider for future series where I find it might be of benefit.

But I can already predict it won't have the effect people hope for. It might get you closer to your standard rival if he is a fewn tenths faster, but ballast will never achieve more than that. Or we should attach a trailer to Maikels car  Grin

First of all I must say I'm an idiot  Grin Grin

Before the start I fell into the Jeffrey's trap  Grin and decided to go even safer than his advice, so I started the race with 108 litres instead of 100  dots censored  Grin
Than Maikel disappeared Cheesy

So the race started. Me and Jeffrey had a pretty good fight during the first laps with a couple of overtakes in which we both risked our lives (as Thomas Brown would say Cheesy ), than Felix added to the party, and I was able to put a small gap between me and the two followers that in the meantime had exchanged their position a couple of times. Jeffrey didn't give up, and we put together in an "hammer time" mode that will last for about 15 laps. Jeff was gaining less than 1 tenth per lap on average, but was enough to catch me again during the last two laps.
Don't really know what happened at the second of 'Les Combes', cause my car suddently tail out throwing me directly into the wall at high speed with less than 2 laps to go. It's a shame cause I was ready for the fight, but seems that my tyres weren't.  Cry Cry
Fortunately I managed to recover and defend my wood Medal with a destroyed car by the final attack of nsfw. Race over.

Grats to Maikel for his superior pace, to Jeff for his tenacity, and to that damned podium stealer of Felix for the lucky strike  Grin Grin Grin

I had too much fuel too at 105L, didn't even reach low fuel light at race end  Tongue. I dropped my final drive ratio one notch at qually end so put a bit extra fuel in just in case as wasn't sure of the revised fuel hit.
Other thing I noticed in early laps is these cars don't seem to draft  Undecided I got no tow at all up the kemmel when I was tucked up behind Fmg. Must have been the fabled f1 dirty air  Wink

I hardly got a draft from Matteo, but he was on lower wing settings. That could also explain why he flew past me on the straight, so that might not have been the draft. The dirty air is very much a thing I think, as I almost got airborne when the car didn't steer in at Eau Rouge while being tucked behind the car infront  Grin

I definitely got drafts in the those first few laps when i was behind someone. Worse was the dirty air going through the final fast left hander before the bus stop, meant understeer off into the greencrete, it was quite apparent (and not cold tyres!).

I remember doing a race @ Spa in a F138 over at Core quite some time ago.

I was chasing someone and finally got abit close behind at Pouhon and the car just completely lost any downforce into the corner spinning me around.
I've been abit more cautious about dirty air in high downforce cars ever since.  Wink

I should watch the replay but unfortunately I didn't saved it.

Jeffrey managed to got my draft only 3 times during the race I guess, but was evidently higher then me on his wings. After he managed to pass me, I had a couple of strange moments with the dirty air I was taking following him as somone already noticed, but I managed to stay close to him for the whole lap simply anticipating my braking points and exploiting a bit of trail.
Before La Source, I was thinking that the Kemmel straight was the only point to overtake him, but I should have risked my race at the Eau Rouge.... so I bet I lifted up a bit on that lap but I managed to exploit really well the draft offered by Jeffrey's car on that lap due to my lower wings, passing him well before the braking point. Sometimes it's a psychological question, but it makes me feel better to be in the position of the hunter, rather than to be the quarry  Grin

I put my setup on ptracker for that Simon  Wink
Though its mostly just the default with a softer front.

I don't suppose you wanna send it to me? I was too stupid to see it on pTracker for the last race. :-D
